Category Sr. Manager – Strategic Sales & Analytics

As the Ninja Category Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing SharkNinja’s portfolio in the market.  The Strategic Sales Manager is at the center of trade marketing, field sales, marketing and product development, and is the voice of what is what is working or not in the market.  This role is responsible for putting forth recommendations of what is best for the North American market to scale distribution, drive revenue, POS, market share, and improve the businesses’ profitability. This individual will facilitate assortment and pricing decisions for their respective category and be the headquarter liaison for all North American Sales.

This individual will work with Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Product Development to develop the best assortment, pricing, and promotional strategy for SharkNinja to be the market share leader in their respective category. The Strategic Sales & Analytics Manager should broadly understand retailer landscape and the consumables space as this position will predominantly focus on monetizing the totality of the business model.

Our Strategic Sales Manager will drive impact by:

  • Manage, Coach, and Mentor a team of analysts.
  • Facilitate the shelf assortment strategy by category and retailer to maximize revenue, profitability, and YoY growth.
  • Identify, measure, and quantify marketplace/ retailer trends, issues and opportunities.
  • Engage in long range placement strategies with Marketing and Product Development that deliver our category level margin targets.
  • Collaborate with key accounts to develop National promotion strategy, including understanding and validating sales lifts, coordinating necessary asset support, understanding profitability impacts along with confirming actions into the forecast.
  • Be bold in elimination of dead trade spend and identify activations that will drive industry leading ROI for each brand.
  • Develop distribution strategies that allow our brands to win where the consumer shops in an everchanging retail environment, including expanding into new channels.
  • See the smoke before the fire on product and retail performance and lead the charge to identify actions to improve high rate of sale.
  • Support sales with frequent in market visits and customer facing meetings to provide strategic value to Shark Ninja’s partners and field sales team including product, category knowledge and go-to-market strategy.
  • Measure and communicate sales results; i.e promotional lift and elasticity, pricing strategy, shifts in assortment or distribution, etc.
  • Liaison between Sales and Finance on assortment portfolios that drive margin enhancement YoY by subcategory.
  • Support cross-functional team in understanding consumer usage rates for consumables, and the impact consumption has on improving category margin mix. Identify opportunities in distribution, assortment, and/or pricing to increase consumption.

 

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience (MBA ideal)
  • 6+ years of Sales, Trade Marketing, Finance or data analytics
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and be detailed oriented with respect to ensuring deadlines are met
  • Advanced Microsoft office skills (Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • 5-10% of time on travel
