Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week Monday-Friday

An exciting opportunity for a permanent position as Business Relationship Manager has arisen at Dick White Referrals*. Founded in 2003 by Professor Dick White, and now part of the Linnaeus Group has grown to be one of the largest specialist multi-disciplinary veterinary referral centers in Europe, offering outstanding levels of clinical care in state-of-the-art facilities. DWR is located in Six Mile Bottom, Cambridgeshire, UK, only six miles from the historic town of Newmarket and eight miles from the vibrant and historic university city of Cambridge. With excellent connections to London, the Midlands and London Stansted airport for international travel.

As a truly multi-disciplinary hospital we accept referrals in Anaesthesia, Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery, Dermatology, Diagnostic Imaging, Dentistry, Emergency and Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Oncology, Orthopaedic Surgery, Physiotherapy and Soft Tissue Surgery.

Position overview

The Business Relationship Manager will be responsible for working closely with DWR and the wider Linnaeus teams to drive business growth and local referring vet engagement through relationship building. The majority of is within a field-based capacity with some days of remote working and working on site with the wider DWR team. The role will be working closely with the DWR senior leadership team, Managing Director and Marketing Manager, to provide business relationship plans for the practice to align with the business objectives to drive top line growth. 

The primary objective of the BRM is to gain new and retain current referrals to the centre and to obtain feedback from the veterinary practices on what services or opportunities could be improved in order for them to consider referring if they are not currently. Utilising the data available the BRM will develop a list of postcodes and priority practices, to visit on a local level and develop strong relationships with. Defining core and boarder catchment areas via postcodes and developing support plans for each area. Prepare visit plans, call or support plans for each practice and measure results. Audit existing activity and use results to build on client and referring vet base. Ensure activity has clear objectives and can be measured to understand ROI.

Working with the wider team to develop a CPD plan for the year to reflect and showcase the specialisms at DWR. Organise and liaise with external suppliers, peak interest and register referring vets onto CPD, updating information on website and ensuring practices are clear on what content and information they can find on the site.

Person specification

The ideal candidate is someone who is self-motivated and enjoys communicating to a high level with a positive outlook and has enthusiasm to drive the business forward, suggesting and implementing new ideas and strategies. Due to the nature of the role, it is essential to hold a full driving license and have full access to a car, travel expenses can be reclaimed.

Experience

  • Experience of building business support plans
  • Good stakeholder manager and relationship builder
  • Some knowledge of veterinary businesses and how they operate.
  • Field based experience.
  • Experience in a referral’s environment within healthcare.
     

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of relationship management
  • Understanding of service sectors
  • Veterinary industry knowledge would be excellent but knowledge of healthcare or service provider essential industries also acceptable
