Position Overview

The Vice President of Marketing for the Canada market is a key leadership position responsible for developing, executing, and optimizing the overall marketing strategy. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the Canadian market and will be adept at leading high-impact, performance-based marketing initiatives. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong analytical mindset, capable of driving growth through data-driven decision-making while ensuring the alignment of marketing efforts with the company’s overall business objectives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy tailored to the Canadian market, aligning with the company’s global objectives.
    • Lead the creation of brand positioning and messaging that resonates with Canadian consumers and differentiates the company in a competitive market.
    • Partner with global senior leadership to ensure marketing strategies are aligned with overall business goals, including revenue growth, customer acquisition, and brand awareness.
  • Performance-Based Marketing:
    • Design and oversee performance-based marketing campaigns across various channels, including digital, social media, content, and traditional media.
    • Monitor, analyze, and adjust marketing initiatives based on performance metrics, ensuring continuous improvement and ROI maximization.
    • Utilize data-driven insights to refine targeting, messaging, and channel strategies to enhance campaign effectiveness.
  • Market Insights and Analysis:
    • Stay ahead of market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape to inform and adapt marketing strategies.
    • Conduct regular market analysis to identify growth opportunities, emerging trends, and potential risks within the Canadian market.
    • Collaborate with the research and analytics teams to leverage insights that drive informed decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and accountability.
    • Establish clear goals and performance expectations for the marketing team, providing regular feedback and support to achieve them.
    • Ensure the team is equipped with the necessary skills, tools, and resources to execute marketing initiatives effectively.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with Sales, Product, and Strategic Sales teams to ensure marketing efforts are aligned with product offerings, sales strategies, and customer needs.
    • Foster strong relationships with external partners, including agencies, media outlets, and industry influencers, to enhance the effectiveness of marketing campaigns.
    • Collaborate with the finance team to manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost-effective campaign execution.
  • Brand Management:
    • Oversee the development and maintenance of the company’s brand identity in the Canadian market, ensuring consistency across all marketing materials and channels.
    • Lead initiatives to strengthen brand equity and increase brand loyalty among Canadian consumers.
    • Manage public relations efforts, including media relations, corporate communications, and crisis management, to protect and enhance the company’s reputation.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • MBA or advanced degree is desirable.
  • Experience:
    • 10+ years of progressive experience in marketing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably within the Canadian market.
    • Proven track record of successfully leading performance-based marketing initiatives and driving measurable business results.
    • Experience in managing large-scale marketing campaigns across multiple channels, including digital, social, and traditional media.
  • Skills:
    • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business objectives into effective marketing strategies.
    • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
    • Proficiency in data analysis and the use of analytics tools to measure campaign performance and inform decision-making.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Competencies:
    • Deep understanding of the Canadian market, including consumer behavior, media landscape, and regulatory environment.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high level of adaptability and flexibility.
    • Strong business acumen and financial literacy, with experience in budget management and resource allocation.

Work Environment

  • Role required to be in-office (Mississauga, ON) 3 times per week.
  • Occasional travel (25%) may be required for meetings, conferences, and other business-related activities within Canada and internationally.
