Job Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Major Tower – Terminal Operations, the Unit Manager is accountable for the safety, service, budget, specialty personnel and stakeholder relations at the delegated specialties.
The Unit Manager is accountable and provides leadership to a team of Air Traffic Controllers and Team Supervisors. They act as change agents with the implementation of new technology, procedures or programs.

Language Requirements: Bilingual (English and French), in accordance with Civil Aviation Regulations and or Official Languages requirements in order to either provide services to clients, the Public and or, to supervise and provide services to employees in the official language of their choice.
What you’ll be doing:
- Ensure the safety, service and quality of ACC services delegated within their scope of responsibility in collaboration with supervisors and Managers, ATS Quality Standards (MAQS).
- Responsible for leading a team including hiring, coaching, mentoring and developing a high performing and highly engaged team.
- Develops and implements corrective action plans to address deficiencies in accordance with the Safety Management System (SMS) program and identifies trends to improve safety and service.
- Ensures OI investigations are completed and collaborates with all stakeholders involved.
- Ensures operation practices comply with the Fatigue Risk Management Program.
- Responsible to plan, train and manage both the Emergency Response and Business Continuity Planning.
- Supports Air Traffic Services (ATS) Standards by ensuring staff meet all licensing, medical and proficiency requirements required for their positions.
- Acts as local point of contact for NAV CANADA for identified operational issues.
- Develops and manages budgetary plans and forecasts based on operational requirements and priorities.
What you bring:
- Successful completion of secondary school.
- 3 years of leadership experience managing a diverse team.
- Knowledge and understanding of the aviation industry.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Canadian Air Navigation System and Air Traffic Management.
- Human Resources/Labour Relations skills are an asset.
- Ability to foster a climate conducive to an engaged workforce by promoting company values of respect, excellence, and service.
- Demonstrated ability of strong time management and judgement to prioritize multiple tasks of varying urgency.
- Ability to manage large, complex initiatives.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities.

Working Conditions:
- This position is based in Montreal ACC and is classified as an onsite position. This position is not eligible for a flexible work arrangement.
- Occasional travel required.
