- Monitor network performance and security, identifying and resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Monitoring network performance to determine if adjustments are required.
- Process ISP maintenance schedules and co-ordinate with ISP/Vendors for quick restoration of network
- Design, implement, and maintain computer networks, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), wireless networks and Data Center connectivity.
- Work on Voice/Video issues.
- Basic Knowledge of Cloud Infrastructure and its troubleshooting.
- Install and configure network equipment, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Protecting data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning and implementing in accordance with the Alcon Security and compliance environment.
- Conduct regular network audits to ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate network systems with other infrastructure components, such as servers, storage, and applications.
- Develop and maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users and other IT staff.
- Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving hardware, software, and other network issues.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements and enhancements to the network infrastructure.
- Designing, configuring and testing networking hardware, and operating systems.
Who we are looking for/Key Qualifications:
To be a successful candidate, you will need to have a Good understanding of network devices, routing protocols, LAN/WAN environments and transports, network hardware and distribution facilities. The candidate will also need to be able to monitor, process ISP maintenance tasks and do basic troubleshoot network devices including WLAN, LAN switching, Routers, SDWAN devices, Voice /Video, Cloud Operation. The ability to lead and manage a high performing team of analysts during rotating shifts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or IT
- 2-4+ years of experience of monitoring, troubleshooting network devices including WLAN, LAN switching, Routers, SDWAN devices, Voice /Video, Cloud Operation.
- Ability to work rotating shifts.
- Ability to work at the Bangalore Alcon Network Operations Center
- Service Now experience handling tickets.
- Demonstrated experience working in ITIL environments.
Skills for success/Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a complex matrix organization
- Service Now experience handling tickets and creating reporting
- Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and standardization
- Experience working with Telecom providers and supplier support organizations.
- Proven experience as a Network Analyst or similar role.
- Experience working with some of the following: Cisco/Juniper products, Network Management solutions, Meraki, ISE and Bluecat DDI
- Previous experience configuring, troubleshooting LAN environments.
- Shift pattern: 5:30am to 2:30pm and 01pm to 10pm IST (may slightly vary)
