The Opportunity:

Our Student Program provides amazing opportunities to develop functional job skills and gain real-world experience and expertise. We offer spring, fall and year-round internships and co-ops in fields across the company, including engineering, finance, and business development.

We are currently seeking a Fall Co-op in our Operations department.


Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will work with fellow Optical Fabrication Engineers to produce optical components comprised of various substrates in our Optical Fabrication area, splitting their time between manufacturing areas and office spaces. Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting floor operations working alongside engineers and technicians in optical fabrication and optical assembly manufacturing areas
  • Supporting the engineering team with CAD modeling and drawings
  • Supporting the engineering team with technical writing for work instructions and process documentation


Qualifications:

Required: 

  • Current sophomore seeking a degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering
  • Experience in Mechanical CAD design (Creo Parametric, Solidworks, or equivalent) producing 3D models and drawings
  • Experience with technical writing
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future



Desired:

  • Proficient with Creo Parametric and PTC products
  • Familiarity with CNC operation and programming
  • Participation in engineering-based clubs or groups outside your curriculum (Formula SAE, Engineers for a Sustainable World, etc.)
  • Previous co-op or internship experience is a plus

EHS/Environmental Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate, listen to, and interpret instructions, occasionally operate tools and/or machinery with hands and arms and remain stationary for extended periods of the time. The employee will use protective equipment when working with chemicals, move between workstations, reach, and replace equipment, and move items weighing up to 25lbs. Pay Range:

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$45,900 - $91,900
