The Opportunity

The position of Sr. Supervisor - Warehousing and Inventory is within our Infectious Disease Developed Markets business unit located at Scarborough, Maine. In this role you will be responsible for supervising a subset of activities within a distribution center/warehouse or supervises a local warehouse where the scope may be smaller than a centralized distribution center. Manages a team of non-exempt employees to accomplish the following: shipping, receiving, inventory control and final packaging for finished goods, components and/or raw materials.
What You’ll Work On
- Manages the implementation of approved process and systems changes geared toward improving productivity, reducing expenses and improving margins.
- Schedules staff to cover site business needs which may include some or all of the following warehouse activities: shipping, receiving, inventory management and/or final packaging.
- Applies continuous improvement tools to identify and eliminate the root causes of issues that may arise within the Warehouse which may include managing corrective action.
- Provide leadership by assigning goals which align to entity annual plans and department needs then manage team to execute goals through coaching and mentoring.
- Develops and reviews various reports and observes warehouse trends to propose staffing needs.
- Audits data to ensure accuracy of warehouse records.
- Ensures teams are following policies to protect their health and safety.
- Controls inventory levels by managing team to physical counts and reconciling with data storage system.
- Hires and retains a diverse, highly qualified staff and provides ongoing performance feedback. Maintains a safe and professional work environment.
- Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
- Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma.
- 5 years' progressively responsible experience in warehousing.
- 3 years' experience working in highly regulated warehousing environment.
- 3 years' experience working with warehousing software systems.
- Thorough understanding of inventory management, warehouse management and material handling.
- Knowledge of demand planning and vendor management.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and supply chain management.
- Proven success in improving work processes, leading change and role models positive behaviors as well as change agent skills in a complex and fast paced environment.
- Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross division business unit model preferred.
- Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to set goals and provide positive and constructive feedback respectfully to build positive relationships and improve business results.
- Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced changing environment.
- Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
- Multi-tasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
- Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills and ability to hold others accountable.
- Ability to travel approximately 5%, including internationally.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in related technical or field.
