What You Will Do:

  • Support ongoing work to enhance the semantic capabilities of the CDE-R for organization and retrieval of CDEs by topic, disease area, and/or domain. 

  • With CDE-R developer team, develop detailed technical plan and support for implementation of automated or semi-automated assignment of standard terminology concepts to CDEs. 

  • Working with CDE-R software developers to resolve issues with data loads. 

  • Editing CDEs and Forms in the Repository to support interoperability and reuse. 

  • Aligning CDEs with existing standards and terminologies, such as USCDI, LOINC,  SNOMED CT, FHIR, etc.; monitoring standards updates to ensure that changes to terminology, value sets, and other standards are reflected in Repository content. 

  • Explore other system enhancements which may include, but not be limited to greater alignment with external standards and initiatives. 

  • Improved standardized interfaces (APIs) to facilitate data exchange between systems, and explore linkages to related systems, e.g., ClinicalTrials.gov and  PubMed. 

  • Participate in the design, development, and testing of APIs (or other systems to share data and produce documentation for internal and external audiences).  

  • Testing enhancements of the of content management systems, search engines, public facing websites, etc. 

  • Support NLM staff in the assessment and planning for the integration of information  content from one system to another. 

  • Support the functioning of data entry systems and publicly accessible databases. 

  • Perform search engine development and optimization.

  • Generating reports (e.g., usage statistics). 

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required

  • Minimum TWO (2) years of experience as a System Analyst with data curation. 

  • Knowledge of 508 compliance. 

  • Proficiency in statistical analysis using SAS, R, or Python. 

What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Experience working in agile, waterfall, and hybrid projects.

The annual salary range for this position is $75,800.00-$113,600.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
