NATURE AND SCOPE:

Reporting the Chief of Staff and Strategy, the Enterprise Growth and Alignment Executive Director advances the YMCA of Metro Atlanta's strategic plan by leading enterprise growth initiatives, cultivating strategic partnerships, and aligning people, resources, and opportunities that expand the YMCA's long-term impact.

This role focuses on identifying and advancing future growth opportunities while strengthening cross-functional collaboration around enterprise priorities.

Serving as a strategic connector and enterprise integrator, this leader works across departments, operations, and external partners to align the people, partnerships, resources, and planning necessary to evaluate and advance enterprise growth opportunities. Through this work, the role helps ensure growth strategies are connected across program and service lines, informed by organizational priorities, and designed to strengthen the experience of members, participants, donors, volunteers, and community partners.

This role leads to the evaluation of new geographic market opportunities and future YMCA development by coordinating cross-functional planning, market analysis, mission alignment, financial feasibility, and executive decision support. The role collaborates closely with Operations, Finance, Real Estate, Philanthropy, and the Vice President of Strategic Impact & Innovation to ensure enterprise growth opportunities are strategically sound, operationally feasible, aligned with the strategic plan, and positioned for successful organizational implementation.

RESPONSIBLILITIES (including, but not limited to):

Growth Strategy & Enterprise Alignment

  • Lead evaluation of new geographic market opportunities and future YMCA development by coordinating cross-functional planning, market analysis, mission alignment, financial feasibility, and executive decision support.
  • Partner with senior leadership to assess strategic opportunities that expand the YMCA's community impact and long-term sustainability.
  • Align internal stakeholders across Operations, Finance, Real Estate, Philanthropy, Programs and Early Learning to evaluate and advance enterprise growth initiatives.
  • Develop recommendations and business cases that support executive decision-making regarding growth opportunities and strategic investments.
  • Partner closely with the Vice President of Strategic Impact & Innovation to ensure enterprise growth initiatives align with the organization's strategic priorities and are positioned for successful implementation.

Business Development & Ecosystem Engagement

  • Identify, cultivate, and advance new market opportunities through strategic partnerships with civic, corporate, philanthropic, nonprofit, education, healthcare, and public sector organizations.
  • Translate organizational priorities into external partnerships that expand program access, strengthen community reach, and support sustainable growth.
  • Represent the YMCA throughout Metro Atlanta to strengthen relationships, visibility, influence, and collaborative opportunities.
  • Build and steward strategic partnerships that position the YMCA for future investment, innovation, and expansion.

Leadership of Social Impact Partnerships

  • Provide direct supervision to the Director of Social Impact.
  • Partner with the Director of Social Impact to strengthen community partnerships, volunteer engagement, and collaborative initiatives.
  • Ensure partnership development supports both enterprise priorities and evolving community needs.

Transformation & Future Readiness

  • Lead initiatives focused on emerging community trends, evolving demographic needs, and future service delivery opportunities.
  • Explore innovative models that expand YMCA programming beyond traditional facility-based delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to pilot new approaches that strengthen organizational relevance and community impact.
  • Support organizational adaptability by helping leadership anticipate emerging community and market opportunities.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of overall leadership experience required; or high school diploma/equivalent and 12+ years of directly relevant experience with the YMCA or a closely related organization
  • Must have 8+ years of direct people leader experience
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic partnership development, enterprise collaboration, program growth, organizational alignment, and community-based leadership initiatives
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives in complex organizations
  • Demonstrated success building and stewarding partnerships across civic, corporate, philanthropic, and community sectors
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience influencing and coordinating work across multiple departments and teams
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate organizational complexity and help advance strategic priorities through collaboration and relationship management
