Reporting to the Benefits Administration Lead, the person in this role will support the Talent Operations Team’s objective to provide centralized, highly repeatable solutions that allow RSM to achieve business goals while balancing the needs of our employees.
The Benefits Administration Specialist will be responsible for handling the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, wellbeing and retirement plans. 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Help manage all aspects of the Benefits administration process, including but not limited to:
  • Research, resolve and respond to escalated benefits inquiries from employees, managers and HR requiring specialized benefits knowledge
  • Providing benefit plan interpretation based on predetermined guidelines from Benefits Administration Lead and Benefits Manager
  • Supporting all escalations relates to benefits processes including open enrollment, new hire/terms processing, life events, etc.
  • Review documentation for life status changes and other transactions requiring documentation verification
  • Performs regular quality checks of benefits-related data, ensuring the accuracy of all benefits enrollments and data in Workday to provide vendors with accurate enrollment and eligibility information
  • Assists with the open enrollment process including testing configuration, providing necessary reporting to vendors, and answering employee questions.
  • Communicate daily with Benefits Administration Lead on productivity, quality & availability,
  • Conducts vendor and HRIS audits to ensure accuracy of Benefits records and resolves discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Seek to continuously develop and improve personal levels of knowledge and expertise, coordinating with the Benefits Administration Lead & Benefits Manager for training as required.
  • Identify communication and operational issues arising during day-to-day administration activities, making recommendations for process improvements to continuously improve efficiency and customer service.
  • Provide support to Benefits Administration Lead and Benefits Manager for special projects, including open enrollment, annual benefit statement production, performing research and other tasks as needed
  • Maintain employee confidentiality at all times
  • Other duties as assigned  
Minimum Requirements:
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in benefits administration
  • Minimum of 1 year experience using an HRIS
  • Working knowledge and understanding of HIPAA, FMLA and other applicable legislation
  • Excellent written and verbal communications 
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Handles sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
Preferred Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related degree
  • Ability to easily and effectively communicate complex information in a meaningful manner
  • Ability to work collaboratively with peers internally and external business partners
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and strong follow-through skills
  • Ability to manage concurrent projects and/or programs
  • Ability to work well under pressure; meet established targets and goals in a high volume, fast-paced and rapidly changing work environment
  • Ability to work independently, effectively prioritize work and consistently meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines
  • Must be able to efficiently and effectively manage a high volume of inquiries and respond in a timely manner

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $48,400 - $77,000
