Principal Engineer, Controls Engineering

This position is responsible for the development of advanced controls for Chillers products. Work as part of a close-knit team of experienced engineers to apply and enhance your engineering development skills to develop applications, products, and tools.

Position Responsibilities
• Assisting the engineers in developing, testing, and supporting controls for Chiller Solutions’ products.
• Must be an analytical thinker in applying robust design methodologies and engineering principles (modeling, simulation, statistics, data acquisition, etc.) to develop and realize solutions
• Must be self-motivated, work independently, and interface directly with electronics engineers, mechanical engineers, software developers, systems engineers, and research engineers to develop system-wide solutions.
• Assisting in the preparation and maintenance of project schedules and budgets;
• Provide support for process improvement initiatives with team.

• Documenting Requirements and SCR and archiving control model in accordance with the Software Development Process;

Qualifications

• MS in Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a similar discipline is preferred.  A Bachelor’s degree with commensurate experience is required.
• Significant experience with MathWorks MATLAB and Simulink products
• A background in feedback control theory, thermodynamics and heat transfer, optimization, or systems
• Minimum six years experience in design and development is preferred
• Controls or HVAC system engineering experience is preferred.
• Familiar with commercial or industrial control systems
• Demonstrate an ability to learn quickly and independently is required
• The ability to apply analytic methods to realize solutions is required
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills are required
• Strong communication (verbal and written) skills; Good English communication skill is preferred.
