Join us and gain vital, real-world experience with a Van Drunen summer internship! Interns will be placed within a functional area related to their program of study. This is a paid internship program and will run full-time for 12 weeks beginning in May.
JOB OVERVIEW:
As an HR intern, you will work alongside the HR team on various continuous improvement projects. The internship could include projects supporting employee engagement programs, change management, recruiting, benefits, turnover analysis, Workday implementation, and/or new hire orientation and onboarding.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Document Management: Assist in project of setting up and transitioning to SharePoint for HR documents.
Job Description Catalogue: Help complete the job description catalogue, ensuring every position in Workday has an up-to-date job description.
Employee Engagement: Support employee engagement survey initiatives using Workday Peakon Voice.
Recruitment Support: Aid in recruitment efforts, including new hire experience improvements, and designing marketing materials for candidates and internship programs.
Project Assistance: Support the project of reviewing Fit for Duty requirements for positions.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
Attention to detail and demonstrated time management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Initiative, resourcefulness, and strong interpersonal skills
Have a curious, proactive and solution-oriented approach
Desire to learn and grow professionally
Creative and innovative ideas
Ability to take direction and multi-task
Demonstrated ability to exhibit a positive attitude, professional image, and demeanor
EDUCATION:
Upperclassman (incoming Junior or Senior) at an accredited College or University
Desired Major(s): Business Administration, Communications, Human Resources
Preferred Minimum GPA: 3.0
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sit and use a computer for a long period of time.
Manual and physical dexterity needed to operate a computer keyboard and handle paper documents.
Sufficient near vision acuity to read information appearing on computer display screen, hand-written forms, and printed on paper.
Adequate hearing and verbal abilities to communicate effectively in person and by telephone.
The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Indoor office environment, may on occasion be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels, such as from office equipment
