General Statement of Duties:

Locke Lord LLP has an immediate opening for a Legal Secretary in our Atlanta office.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process corporate, regulatory and transactional practice legal documents

  • Maintain calendar and contacts

  • Handle administrative tasks such as heavy dictation, billing, time recording, expense reimbursements, and filing

  • Schedule appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements

  • Create, update, and format PowerPoint presentations

  • Mail, scan, fax, or arrange for delivery of legal correspondence and other documents to clients, counsel, and print documents

  • Receive and place telephone calls

  • Make photocopies of correspondence, documents, and other printed materials

  • Responsible for timely completion of documents and/or work requests

  • Create and edit documents, mail merges, charts, graphs, tables, etc.

  • Scan and clean documents utilizing scanner equipment and software

  • Convert and clean documents from other software applications

  • Strong communications skills needed to communicate with all levels of personnel

  • Flexibility in working overtime as requested

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • 5-10+ years of law firm experience

  • Experience in corporate law highly preferred

  • Very strong organization and attention to detail skills

  • Keyboarding skills of at least 65 wpm

  • Advanced skills in Word, Excel, Nuance (or Adobe Pro), and PowerPoint

  • Experience in Word, including advanced functions and Styles (Innova experience a plus)

  • Knowledge of formatting, legal procedures and specialized terminology

  • Working knowledge of windows applications, including e-mail and document management systems (iManage experience a plus)

Additional Information:

Supervisory Responsibility – This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment – This position operates in a professional office environment.

Position Type/Expected Work Hours – This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel – Little to no travel is expected for this position.
