Position Description:
Develops software applications and Web applications, using User Interfaces (UI), Application Programming Interface (API) data, Python, and SQL. Builds single-page client applications using Angular. Leverages existing software components, APIs, and frameworks to influence software delivery schedules and increase reliability. Develops software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation. Provides business solutions by developing complex software applications.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing, testing, and maintaining Fixed Income applications within a distributed environment, using Angular, Python, and SQL.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing, testing, and maintaining Fixed Income applications within a distributed environment, using Angular, Python, and SQL.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing and developing financial analysis applications for business users that require information from Snowflake, Oracle, and PostgreSQL, using PL/SQL Stored procedures, database object tables, indexes, joins, and Datadog (for monitoring databases); and automatically run scripts using AutoSys Workload platform.
DE developing investment tools and dashboards for fund analytics, risk positioning, and reporting, using Python Dash, visualization libraries, SQL Alchemy, and Machine Learning (ML) models for Portfolio managers, Analysts, and Traders to provide actionable insights and help facilitate data-driven decision making.
DE deploying large scale banking micro-service applications with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), using Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes for orchestration and Amazon Web Services (AWS), Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), and Relational Database Service (RDS) for managed databases centralized logging, to deliver expedited data accesses across all microservices and API Gateways, route external API requests, and load balance across appropriate microservices.
DE developing and maintaining macro-enabled large scale investment applications, using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), Wrappers, external APIs, and database calls with error handling, notification, authentication, and logging functionalities for daily trade reports.
