Brown University’s School of Professional Studies (SPS) brings a Brown education to new audiences of learners: those focused on the development of skills and a breadth of knowledge necessary for professional success and leadership. We leverage Brown’s intellectual centers of excellence, rigorous teaching, and developmental approach to learning in a range of programs, including serving students outside of traditional degree programs. We partner with Brown departments, centers, institutes, and schools to develop degree and non-degree programs, and to support the recruitment, retention, and placement success of master’s students, including traditional, non-traditional, and professional students.
The Director of Admissions and Data Analytics plays a pivotal leadership role in achieving the enrollment goals for all programs within and supported by the School of Professional Studies (SPS), encompassing a diverse portfolio of professional (including non-degree certificates), online, and residential master's programs. This strategic position is responsible for overseeing the entire admissions lifecycle, from setting up admission requirements and application processing to holistic decision-making and comprehensive yield efforts. The Director works in close collaboration with SPS senior leadership to develop and execute enrollment reporting, projections, and targets. This role defines and implements the overall outreach and admissions strategy and policies in collaboration with academic program teams.
This role is instrumental in ensuring the effective management of an applicant pipeline that generates approximately 8,000 applications annually, leading to the enrollment of 1,500 new students across 45+ distinct master's programs. The Director will manage a team responsible for processing these applications and utilizing data to drive strategic decisions. This position fosters strong collaborative relationships with academic program directors, marketing, recruitment, student services, and other internal and external stakeholders to consistently meet ambitious enrollment goals and uphold the institution’s rigorous standards of excellence and diversity
Bachelor’s degree required. Master's Degree preferred.
8+ years of progressive experience in admissions, enrollment management, and enrollment data analysis or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
3+ years of supervisory experience
Demonstrated leadership and ability to work effectively with leaders of other teams.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, management, problem-solving, and decision making skills.
Ability to develop recruitment and admission initiatives to ensure student access and success.
Expertise in Slate CRM and other current and emerging technology related to recruitment and admissions.
Ability to develop and implement a comprehensive strategic admissions management plan.
