As a Fire Alarm andLife Safety Systems Maintenance Technician at Micron Technology, Inc., you will lead all aspects of the maintenance and uptime of Fire Alarm and Fire Suppression. This is accomplished through continuous improvement, and development of skills associated with the Life Safety trade. In this role, you will support the installation, removal, and repair of the Fire Alarm, Fire Suppression equipment. Additional responsibilities include serving as a resource for engineering and operations, subject matter expert for internal customers, and maintaining accurate maintenance records for proper tracking.

Successful Candidates for this role:

  • Provide timely and detailed preventative maintenance on highly technical facilities equipment.
  • Provide effective and proficient response to restore equipment to service as soon as possible, in the event of a system failure and be able to resolve equipment issues.
  • Identify and respond according to alarm conditions.
  • Identify and resolve chronic equipment alarm issues.
  • Identify and reduce equipment defects to improve quality and enhance system stability.
  • Maintain records on testing and calibrations of equipment.
  • Assist with installation, modification, repair and removal of facilities equipment.
  • Provide a high level of service with strong focus on customers and establish effective relationships with supported teams.

Responsibilities and Tasks

Maintain Site Life Safety Systems

  • Maintain, repair, replace Fire Alarm panels and associated equipment, Protection Sprinkler Systems, and Fire Suppression Systems.

Support Safety, Environmental, Health, and Security Standards

  • Achieve and maintain 100% completion of assigned EHSS training.
  • Maintain emergency safety systems.
  • Follow safe work practices.
  • Review equipment installation.
  • Perform safety analysis (Job Hazard Analysis) as required.
  • Be proactive in reducing incidents of personal injury, safety hazards, or environmental releases.

Develop Technical Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Participate in provided vendor training.
  • Learn, understand, and follow manufactures recommendation.
  • Author, review, and update procedures.
  • Acquire and Maintain NICET certifications and equipment associated certifications.

Manage and Lead all aspects of Installation of New Equipment

  • Perform acceptance test on new equipment.
  • Complete lock out tag out to de-energize equipment for safe working conditions.
  • Monitor installations for compliance to codes and standards.

Participate in Continuous Improvement and Reliability Initiatives

  • Suggest and perform upgrades on obsolete equipment.
  • Participate in focus groups with engineering and other fields.
  • Participate in Total Productive Maintenance program.
  • Analyze equipment performance to evaluate efficiencies.

Maintain Equipment and System Maintenance Records

  • Complete data logs in FMS and other applications used for tracking maintenance.
  • Build presentations via Microsoft Office applications.
  • Review and update records relative to assets along with spare parts inventory lists

Education

Associates Degree or equivalent experience

Certificate

  • National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) Level 1
  • Trades
