Our Newest Opportunity: 

The Open Enrollment Project Manager is responsible for managing the Open Enrollment process from start to finish, ensuring smooth execution and client satisfaction. The Open Enrollment Project Manager, in partnership with the Account Manager, supports a book of large market clients on the development and execution of their Open Enrollment strategies and communication plans. This role will utilize strong project management skills to coordinate/delegate tasks, meet deadlines, ensure accuracy, and achieve project objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

Manage and oversee Open Enrollment, including:

  • Lead client OE planning and strategy
  • Lead internal OE planning calls with the other service team members
  • Coordinate with the other service teams involved in OE to ensure smooth and timely execution and completion of OE-related projects
  • Develop and manage the OE timeline
  • Complete OE/Ongoing Checklist
  • Coordinate/schedule employee OE meetings and book an Enrollment Specialist to conduct the meetings
  • Provide necessary and timely OE meeting details to the Enrollment Specialist
  • Directly and regularly correspond with the client during OE to keep them updated on progress, address their inquiries, resolve issues, and provide expert guidance throughout the OE period

Lead new Carrier Implementations, including:

  • Assist in completing the new carrier implementation paperwork
  • Submit new carrier implementation paperwork timely to the carrier(s)
  • Take part in carrier implementation calls as needed
  • Oversee the implementation(s) through completion to ensure the information is processed accurately and timely

OE Communication Strategy & Execution:

  • Complete benefit guide, OE memo, and OE presentation or coordinate with our outsource partner on the completion of the initial draft(s) and subsequent edits needed on each deliverable
  • Create additional OE deliverables as needed, including posters, mailed postcards, benefits at a glance, rate sheets, etc.
  • Establish and lead calls with clients to review communication materials
  • Correspond regularly with clients to understand their culture/brand to provide relevant communication materials
  • Ensure accuracy of deliverables

Develop the OE processing plan:

  • Establish the processing plan and provide the details to the Benefit Associate
  • Oversee the execution of the processing plan to ensure the accurate and timely submission of the eligibility data to the carrier(s)

Post-OE management & year-round client engagement, including:

  • Monitor and track OE engagement metrics, analyze data, and generate reports to evaluate the success of the open enrollment communications and identify areas for improvement
  • Compile post-OE data into a client-facing report/slide
  • Take part in the post-OE meeting with the client
  • Send post-OE “Voice of the Customer” survey to client
  • Coordinate the post-OE processing plan with the Benefit Associate o Provide year-round client engagement support as needed

Education, Training, and Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in health & welfare benefits
  • An earned Bachelor’s degree (or its equivalent)
  • An earned Individual Producers License in Health and Life Insurances or obtained within 90 days of employment (first exam attempt must be completed within 60 days of employment)
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Canva, Brainshark, and Adobe, a plus
  • Proven track record of excellent project management, time management, and effective email communication, preferably within an insurance broker setting
  • Proven track record with excellent client feedback on the quality and value of their work
  • Experience with face-to-face client interaction
  • Experience with reporting and evaluating communication effectiveness

The typical base pay range for this role nationwide is $60,000 to $75,000 per year.


Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on your individual performance and/or the company’s performance.
