Shift: Sunday - Thursday, 11 pm to 7am plus mandatory overtime as required

$3000 retention bonus [ $500 at 90 days, $1000 at 6 months and $1500 at 1 year]

Job Summary

Working from work requests (stored in CMMS - Computerized Maintenance Management System); work procedures; or other written, verbal or electronic instructions; performs a wide variety of self-directed mechanical and electrical duties to maintain production equipment and facilities in a safe, clean, and efficiently operational manner. Adheres to procedures and prepares and maintains records, in either written or electronic form, regarding safety, quality, productivity, preventive maintenance, and housekeeping.

Core Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots industrial machinery and equipment: electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and PLC logic systems.

  • Observes and listens to mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of trouble; repairs equipment in a timely manner.

  • Dismantles machines or equipment, replacing defective parts and motors, and adjusting feed mechanisms.

  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments to ensure machines are operating within validated parameters.

  • Reads, interprets, understands, and works from drawings, sketches, schematics, machine manuals, CMM work requests, and other written, electronic or verbal instructions.

  • Uses measuring devices and visual inspections to ensure quality of product and conformity to prints, work instructions, and standards.

  • Trouble shoots, repairs, and/or installs AC/DC motors, switches, relays and solenoid valves and low voltage control circuits.

  • Trouble shoots, repairs or replaces various motion controllers/actuators (e.g. IAI, Yasakawa)

  • Operates various tools and equipment to maintain, clean, prep, lubricate, handle, manipulate, and move machinery, equipment, salvage, and facilities.

  • Performs tooling changes and setups to support production requirements.

  • Performs preventative / predictive maintenance, and supports production set-ups.

  • Bends, cuts, threads, glues pipe, and cuts openings in walls, ceilings, and floors for pipes; seals pipe joints with sealing compound.

  • Operates cutting torch and welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.

  • Reports and corrects safety issues relating to equipment.

  • Directs, guides, assists, and/or trains others to promote manufacturing flexibility.

Qualifying Experience

  • Associate’s degree in technical discipline or 8,000 hour state-approved apprenticeship certificate required

  • Two or more years of general experience as a mechanic or mechanic’s helper required

  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience to meet the above requirements
