Feed your creativity while collaborating with our team of highly-skilled developers to build something innovative, exhilarating, and expansively entertaining!

As a member of the Art department, you’ll create high-quality materials and textures for game environments, ensuring they align with the game's artistic vision. You will also optimize materials for performance and help manage the project's material library.

As a member of the project, you’ll help take the studio and our game from great to even better—with a focus on inclusivity, mutual respect (for ourselves and our players), thoughtfulness, empathy, professionalism, and collaboration.

You’ll help us by…

  • Collaborate with other artists, level designers and the art director to plan material needs for the project

  • Assess scope of materials requests with your immediate supervisor to establish an achievable production schedule

  • Create a wide range of high-quality materials for environments and props that align with the game's artistic vision.

  • Utilize industry-standard software (e.g., Substance Designer, Photoshop) to author textures that emphasize detail, realism, and visual storytelling

  • Work with the Photogrammetry Team to ensure quality scanned data is being used as a starting point for your materials

  • Optimize materials for performance and memory constraints on target platforms, ensuring visual fidelity while maintaining efficient resource usage

  • Organize and manage the project material library and ensure efficient knowledge of pipeline and utilization by team members

  • Continuously explore and implement new material authoring or shader techniques and tools to improve efficiency and quality

You’re awesome because you have…

  • A strong portfolio demonstrating focus and passion for material, texturing and shader creation

  • Proven experience (3+ years) in creating Environment or Prop Art in AAA game development with at least one AAA title connected to your name

  • Experience working in Modern Game Engines with an awareness of game budgets, limits, and memory constraints

  • Excellent artistic and design skills, including a keen eye for composition, color theory, and visual storytelling

  • Proficiency in industry-standard 3D modeling and texturing software (e.g., Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, ZBrush, Substance Painter/Designer)

  • Solid understanding of PBR (Physically Based Rendering) principles and material authoring

  • Ability to consistently resolve issues from a visual, production, and technical perspective

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment

  • Ability to adapt to evolving project needs and work under tight deadlines

Bonus points for…

  • Knowledge of game engine shader creation, either node based or HLSL

  • Experience working in or developing procedural workflows via tools like Houdini or UPS

  • Experience with photogrammetry or other scanning techniques & workflows
