We are looking for a focused, diligent, and highly engaged Software Quality and Technology Engineer to join our team. The Engineer is expected to provide quality support for selected MSI R&D teams to ensure their deliverables meet customer/business needs and expectations and to continually improve both their product and the development process. The Engineer is also expected to cooperate with external suppliers that deliver SW products interoperating with MSI solutions or components integrated into MSI products in his/her area of responsibility to ensure the high quality of their deliverables.
The responsibilities of a Software Quality and Technology Engineer include but are not limited to:
Assessing the product team’s performance, capability, process gaps, and areas that require improvements
Closely cooperating with product teams to:
develop quality goals based on continual improvement
prepare and adjust plans to ensure the goals are achievable
track quality metrics and measure the progress in achieving the goals
ensure the released product meets all quality criteria
Cooperating with product teams to continually improve their products and development process – provide support to identify lessons learned, develop true preventative actions, and track them to completion
Cooperating with external suppliers to:
define quality criteria for their products
monitor the quality of their deliverables
ensure the delivered product meets all quality criteria
drive process improvements to reduce defect rates
Identifying and managing quality risks based on capability data & metrics, driving mitigation actions and contingency plans
Driving resolution of quality issues found in the released products and introducing corrective and preventive actions
Participating in planned internal and external audits and actively following up on findings until closure
The Software Quality and Technology Engineer needs to have a deep knowledge of quality management methodologies, a good understanding of the product team development & test processes, and a very good knowledge of the delivered product.
He/She needs to be proactive, driven, accountable, and closely collaborate with engineering, non-engineering, and quality teams in Krakow and other MSI centers around the world to ensure the delivery of high-quality products.
Required:
B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in quality, engineering, project management, or computer science
2+ years of work experience in quality management (SW or HW)
Knowledge of problem-solving methods
Knowledge and experience in applying process improvement models (e.g. Digital Six Sigma, Lean, etc.)
Excellent self-management skills
Project management skills
Strong analytical skills
Proactiveness and result-oriented approach
Cross-culture understanding
Highly collaborative approach (team player)
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
The following skills will be a plus:
Knowledge of quality management systems (like ISO, CMMI, etc.)
Knowledge of software development and testing processes and metrics
Certification in quality assurance, or Six Sigma belt holder
Knowledge of project management methodologies
Knowledge of risk management
Auditing skills (e.g. ISO 9001 Internal Auditor Certification)
