ROLE SUMMARY
In this highly visible role, the Sr Associate will support the development and implementation of Pfizer’s enterprise-wide investor communications strategy and coordinate and participate in the creation of key internal deliverables vital to Executive Leadership Team (ELT) preparation for investor events (such as ad hoc meetings, non-deal roadshows and quarterly earnings). The Sr Associate will also support interactions with the investment community by managing inbound inquiries received through the Investor Relations (IR) general inbox related to Pfizer’s financial performance, products and R&D pipeline, ensuring timely and professional service.
Using databases available to Pfizer, the Sr Associate will support the generation of financial data and analysis to support the activities and operations of the IR team. The position holder will also track external sell-side coverage, news flow, Bloomberg News and other sources, including Pfizer’s competitive intelligence team, to crystalize multiple sources into impactful insights, keeping the IR team and senior management informed about financial and pharmaceutical market movements relevant to the company.
Reporting to the Director, Investor Relations, the Sr Associate is a self-motivated performer capable of building and maintaining relationships at all levels—and possesses the ability to influence ‘up’ and ‘across’ when collaborating with internal stakeholders (e.g., other IR team members, cross-functional business partners and subject matter experts).
The Sr Associate should have exceptional verbal, written and visual communication skills, deep intellectual curiosity and a good understanding of the pharmaceutical industry / healthcare sector. Basic knowledge of the financial sector will contribute to the role holder’s success.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinates and supports the development of key deliverables (e.g., presentation decks, talking points and Q&A) and supports execution of Pfizer-hosted investor events such as investor days and educational webcasts.
Coordinates the creation of briefing materials to aid ELT preparation for investor meetings and events (e.g., 1:1 meetings, bus tours and fireside chats).
Collaborates with internal partners to maintain an updated list of high-priority catalysts (e.g., expected regulatory approvals, clinical trial readouts and financial milestones) in focus for investors and analysts, and ensures the list is always updated in ELT briefing materials and other IR deliverables.
Summarizes analyst and investor commentary and feedback to help organizational leaders understand market sentiment around Pfizer’s business, portfolio and catalysts.
Leads the curation, creation and timely distribution of the monthly Pfizer IR “In Case You Missed It” newsletter.
Serves as a point of contact for inbound emails in the IR general inbox and provides timely service by collaborating with internal stakeholders to answer questions.
Supports the Director, Investor Relations in the development and execution of a long-range strategic investor communications plan for Pfizer’s Oncology organization; and of deliverables critical for ELT’s preparation for Pfizer’s quarterly earnings calls, including the enterprise-wide key messages document and core management prep document.
Supports the Director, Investor Relations in proactively contextualizing Pfizer Oncology milestones for other IR team members and the investment community.
Supports the development and execution of Pfizer IR’s data analysis framework.
Provides support in IR meetings, bank conferences and scientific congresses as appropriate.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Applicant must have a HS Diploma (or Equivalent) and 8 years of relevant experience OR an Associates degree with 6 years of experience OR a Bachelors degree with at least 3 years of experience OR Masters degree with more than 1 year of experience.
Relevant experience is defined as experience in corporate communications, public relations, finance or other relevant fields in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare or life science industries (in-house or agency).
Outstanding written and verbal communication and storytelling skills, including the ability to convert complex scientific and financial information into understandable text and visual presentations for non-experts.
Excellent interpersonal and networking skills, with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain business relationships; experience interacting with senior leadership a plus.
High attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, with a particular focus on PowerPoint and Word.
Growth mindset founded on deep intellectual curiosity and a motivation to tackle new challenges.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Familiarity with Pfizer’s pipeline and commercial products as well as competitors’ key disease areas and product lines.
Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT to support content generation and optimize workflows.
Experience with financial CRM platforms such as Nasdaq IR Insight and S&P BD Corporate.
Basic understanding of the financial sector and/or the Investor Relations function.
