A Junior Business Analyst Intern contributes to effective Research and Development (R&D) budget planning and operational efficiency by supporting financial analysis, purchase requisition reviews, and spend tracking. This role offers hands-on experience in a dynamic, innovation-driven environment, working closely with cross-functional partners to ensure resources are allocated responsibly and key processes run smoothly.
How you will make an impact:
• Support planning, monitoring, and reporting of Research and Development (R&D) budgets to maintain accurate financial visibility
• Analyze budget data to identify variances, trends, or discrepancies that inform timely corrective actions
• Prepare clear and concise financial reports for stakeholders across finance, procurement, and operational teams
• Review purchase requisitions for accuracy, budget alignment, and compliance with internal standards
• Track requisition approvals and partner with teams to resolve issues that delay processing
• Monitor spending against forecasts to support effective decision making
• Maintain organized documentation and tracking systems to enhance operational efficiency
The must haves:
• Current enrollment in a business, finance, economics, or related undergraduate program+
• Foundational knowledge of budgeting, financial analysis, or operational processes
• Strong analytical skills to interpret data and identify issues or trends
• High attention to detail to support accurate review of purchase requisitions
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
• Proficiency with spreadsheets and financial tracking tools
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Nice to haves:
• Experience with budgeting or procurement systems
• Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) tools
• Exposure to corporate finance or operational processes through coursework or previous internships
• Ability to streamline processes or suggest improvements based on data insights
• Comfort working in fast-paced, innovation-oriented environments
• Interest in R&D operations or technology-driven industries
• Basic understanding of compliance standards in procurement
Pay Range:
The hourly pay rate for this position is $20.00-25.50
