The position is mainly responsible for supporting the APAC Financial Sponsors team. Primary activities of the Sponsors coverage Group are to utilize the Bank’s APAC and Global platform to originate and execute transactions for global Infrastructure, Private Equity, Credit and Real Estate Funds. Candidate will collaborate extensively with other teams / departments in Structured Finance, Leveraged Finance, M&A, Strategic Equities and other internal teams and functions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with senior colleagues and internal stakeholders to promote and develop Santander’s Asia Pacific’s Sponsor Coverage franchise.

2. Develop relationships internally within the bank and externally with clients to source and identify suitable financing and MA opportunities.

3. Support the preparation of internal credit papers, financial modelling, and transaction execution with the relevant Product Groups (leverage / structured finance, M&A, strategic equities solution etc).

4. Assist with business origination activities and preparation of marketing materials.

5. Assist the senior banker in pipeline management, market study, and portfolio review.

6. Support the strategic business planning for the business and various commercial activities.

7. Coordinate with internal and external parties in carrying out relevant internal processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting or Engineering required.

  • 2-3 years of relevant work experience in corporate finance / M&A / structured finance / fund financing.

  • Adept at handling multiple tasks, logical reasoning, and strong quantitative / analytical skills.

  • Proven ability to deliver in a fast paced and result oriented environment.

  • Strong interdisciplinary skills covering financing, tax, accounting, financial modelling, due diligence, and documentation.

  • Fluency in English is a pre-requisite; Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and/or Spanish will be viewed favourably.
