What you will do
The Sr. Regional Advanced Manufacturing Engineer is accountable for directing, implementing, monitoring, and improvement of processes and equipment required for manufacturing coils with the business unit, Ducted Systems. This position is involved in the design and manufacture of the next generation of product. This role is also responsible for the successful outcome of the manufacturing process, and will work with all three Ducted Systems plants to achieve repeatable yields and improvement to product escapes and warranty claims. This role is specifically looking for process and product knowledge of manufacturing aluminum coils both in indoor and outdoor HVAC equipment.
How you will do it
Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, quality control, and corporate standards.
Management and collaboration with manufacturing sites of specifying, purchasing, and implementing capital equipment associated with aluminum coils, copper coils, line brazing and other supporting processes.
Works with suppliers and manufacturing engineers to layout equipment in the most efficient manner
Monitors key process indicators of coil manufacturing to ensure compliance of the standard
Support Design Engineering in DFAM activities and leads the manufacturing input on DFAM
Supports factory with PFMEA’s and mitigating process risks
Improve internal manufacturing processes to improve COPQ and Warranty outcomes
Estimates labor production times for product costing input
Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements, process improvements and potential capacity.
Interaction and involvement with multiple cross functional groups necessary to successfully execute the requirements of this position.
What we look for
Required
Bachelor’s Degree plus 6-10 years of experience in a related field or equivalent combined education and experience.
5-10 years of Aluminum brazing and coil brazing experience
5-10 years of experience working with presses, hairpin machines, expanders, autobrazing, and brazing technologies
Experience with fabrication processes
Experience driving DFAM to protect manufacturing complexities or inabilities to meet engineering requests.
Demonstrated knowledge of normal capability analysis, non-normal capability analysis, regression analysis, measurement system analysis, statistical process control
Demonstrated knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles, ergonomic principles, and classic industrial engineering principles.
Aptitude and desire to be involved in cross-functional activities, including engineering, marketing, sales, finance, manufacturing, and quality.
Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated decision making ability.
Strong presentation, teamwork, coaching skills, and demonstrated leadership abilities
Strong organization and problem-solving skills
Proven leadership and teamwork skills
Must be available for up to 10% travel, including international
Preferred
Six Sigma Black Belt
Microsoft Project and SharePoint experience
