Understanding the impact of existing tax laws is hard enough.  New legislation, judicial decisions and administrative authority compound the challenges. Professionals in RSM's Washington National Tax (WNT) office advise clients and RSM client engagement teams with respect to these complex issues. We are seeking a Senior Director to join our growing international tax practice  In this position, you will play a critical role in advising clients and RSM client engagement teams on complex issues across a wide range of international tax specialty practice areas.

  • Serve as a Career Advisor, mentor or coach to one or more employees, which will include providing honest and timely performance feedback - approximately 10 - 20% of your time

  • Work on multiple complex issues while communicating in a non-technical manner to facilitate communication between the client and the service team while managing the risk for both the client and the firm

  • Advise clients on a full spectrum of International Tax services including planning, research, compliance, general mergers and acquisitions activities

  • Review US international information reporting forms

  • Review quantitative analysis and projects of international tax professionals

  • Work with RSM member firms around the world

  • Assist with new business development, extended service and tax issue recognition for existing clients

  • Remain up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law

  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and CPA or JD required

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Public Accounting with a focus in International Tax

  • Comprehensive understanding of tax law/rules and implications

  • Experience with International Tax compliance including, but not limited to forms 5471, 5472, 8865, 8858 and 1118

  • Strong international tax technical skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must have a working knowledge of inbound and outbound structure planning, foreign tax credits, worldwide tax minimization planning, developments in global tax policy issues,

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Experience with a national accounting firm and/or experience working for IRS Chief Counsel, the U.S. Treasury Department or the tax writing committees of the U.S. Congress

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $109,800 - $220,600

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
