Senior Manufacturing Engineer- Defense Industry

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in East Farmingdale, NY!

As our Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will perform various tasks to support assembling electronic instrumentation and control cabinets, and electro-mechanical equipment.  The electronic cabinets are approximately 6’ tall, have over 400 components/parts, and can have up to 3000 wiring terminations.  You will develop, implement, and maintain detailed operation sheet packages (work instructions) to facilitate the assembly process for electrical and mechanical parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies for defense products. The position requires you to interface with design engineering to release new and revised production drawings. 

Salary Information: $100,000 - $115,000 per year

Location: East Farmingdale, NY

Your Challenge:

  • Create and maintain detailed assembly operation sheet packages for manufacturing operators to assemble and wire equipment

  • Generate work instructions to rework, repair or upgrade equipment

  • Interface with design engineering to approve and release new drawings

  • Assist in the evaluation of proposed engineering changes and/or other equipment change

  • Generate and submit Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) when drawings need to be modified

  • Participate in all aspects of Continuous Improvement and Lean activities

Your Expertise:

  • Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree in Manufacturing/Mechanical Technology, or equivalent related field or a commensurate level of related experience

  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience creating detailed work instructions for electronic assemblies

  • Ability to review and interpret assembly, parts list, wire list and schematic drawings

  • CAD software

  • MS Office Word and Excel

  • Knowledge of electronic and mechanical assembly principles.
