Team Center Coordinator – Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CVPCU)

This downtown Stuart hospital provides top-quality patient care to the communities in and around Martin County on the beautiful Indian River. The caregivers at Martin North Hospital have made it an excellent medical facility and a home away from home.   
 

With a dedicated Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVPCU) and Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CVPCU), Martin North Hospital is considered the cardiac hub of Cleveland Clinic Martin Health. As an RN in the CVPCU, you will care for stepdown patients with cardiac-related diseases. 


A caregiver in this position works 7:00am – 7:30pm.  


A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Conduct an in-person greeting, welcome and orientation to the unit for newly admitted and transferred patients. 

  • Respond to patient call lights and make rounds.  

  • Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges. 

  • Assist patients and families with wayfinding and direct them to available resources. 

  • Assemble and maintain patient medical records and other documents related to patient care. 

  • Assist with unit clerical functions and in trouble-shooting equipment failures, such as call system, portable phones, WOWs and other unit devices. 

  • Provide or assist with basic patient care activities, such as vital signs, weights, personal care, activities of daily living, patient transfers and transports, pulse oximetry and point of care testing.  

  • Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental or emotional condition to an RN. 


Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • High school diploma or GED.  

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).  

  • One year of recent, full-time experience in patient care or customer service OR additional education/training OR a nursing student who has completed at least one clinical rotation as part of an accredited nursing program.  

  • Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered.  

  • Experience with typing, computer training or equivalent coursework. 


Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • Microsoft Office experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work requires finger dexterity and eye/hand coordination to operate a computer keyboard at a moderate skill level.
  • Requires frequent data entry, standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
  • Mental Demands: Ability to work at a fast pace and prioritize multiple assignments/projects and respond to numerous requests; ability to resolve conflicts among staff and to work collaboratively with department directors, physicians and other members of the Healthcare team; ability to ensure operational efficiency; ability to problem-solve and make decisions; ability to exercise self-control and tolerate stress when dealing with multiple requests and/or conflicting demands from multiple customers.
  • Special Demands: Needs minimal sustained direction in assessing needs, directing staff and carrying out departmental and professional responsibilities.
  • Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye/hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking.
  • Medium Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force rarely, and/or 0 to 50 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.
  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.
  • Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires normal or corrected speech, hearing and vision.
  • Requires some exposure to communicable disease or body fluids.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
