Position Title:  Appraisal Reviewer I

Location/Branch: Corporate

Reports to: Director of Valuation Management

Department: Appraisal

Office presence: Remote

JOB SUMMARY

The Appraisal Reviewer I will manage the process flow of real estate appraisals ready for review through the appraisal management system(s) ) in compliance with applicable policies and guidelines, investor requirements, and Federal and State regulations.  This positions is strongly preferred to have experience in collateral underwriting decisioning with FHA DE and VA SAR certifications.

JOB FUNCTIONS

Appraisal Management

  • Prioritize and analyze real estate appraisals ready for review along with revision requests and delivery of real estate appraisal orders.
  • Analyze submitted appraisals to identify heightened appraisal concerns. 
  • Decision or reject appraisals based on review standards.
  • Evaluate appraiser’s quality of work, communication, and timeliness for scorecards. 
  • Deliver completed appraisal reports in accordance with service level guidelines.
  • Respond to revision requests from underwriting.
  • Ability to maintain daily production requirements.

LEVEL OF SUPERVISION RECEIVED

☒ Supervisor makes assignments by defining objectives, priorities and deadlines, and assists the team member with unusual situations. The team member plans and carries out successive steps and resolves problems and deviations in accordance with instructions, policies and/or accepted practices. The team member contributes to moderately complex aspects of work. The team member’s work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Education:   High school diploma or equivalent. 

Years of Related Experience: Minimum three (3) years of valuation experience required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):  

  • Working knowledge of GSE guidelines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite:  Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Word
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with solid computer skills.
  • Analytical thinker and consultative mind to support both team members and managers in all areas of the business.
  • Goal-oriented, self-motivated with the capacity to meet and exceed assigned goals.
  • Willing to learn, industrious, determined, and assertive. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask to complete a wide variety of tasks.
  • Strong people skills with ability to interact with all internal teams and external customers.
  • Must be able to maintain sensitive and confidential information.
  • Diligence to ensure tasks are completed thoroughly and on time.
