What will be your responsibility:

As a Senior Databricks Engineer, you will lead our data engineering efforts, pushing the boundaries of data processing and performance optimization on the project. You will be responsible for driving performance enhancements, you will focus on significantly increasing default ingestion speeds to meet the substantial data demands, ensuring our client systems operate at peak efficiency. Additionally, you will supervise and guide your project team, ensuring successful delivery and execution, while also providing expert support to other projects, leveraging your deep expertise to drive success across the organization. Your role will involve tackling new and complex challenges, continuously seeking innovative solutions to improve data processing and performance.

Moreover, you will have the opportunity to become a Databricks Champion by participating in Accenture's exclusive program for Databricks experts, contributing to the advancement of best practices and knowledge sharing within the organization. Collaboration and mentorship will be key aspects of your role, as you work closely with cross-functional teams, sharing insights and best practices, and mentoring junior engineers to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Specific requirements will be discussed during the technical interview, based on your knowledge.

 

What we are looking for:

       Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

       4+ years of experience in data engineering, with extensive experience in Databricks.

o   Alternatively, Certified Data Engineer Professional

o   Limited experience? We encourage you to demonstrate your skills in our technical interview.

       Expertise in SQL and multiple programming languages (Python, Scala, or Java).

       3+ years of experience & deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their data services.

       Proven experience in designing and implementing data warehousing and ETL processes.

       Strong background in performance tuning and optimization of data processing systems.

       Outstanding leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information and provide clear feedback, including acknowledging and addressing mistakes.

 

Nice to have:

 

       Additional certifications in data engineering or a related field.

       Experience with machine learning and AI workflows.

       Familiarity with data governance and security best practices. (e.g., Unity Catalog)

       Experience with Cloudera Impala or Apache Kudu, demonstrating proficiency in managing and optimizing distributed data storage and querying systems.

       Familiarity with Apache workflows, such as Apache Airflow or Apache NiFi, showcasing the ability to design, implement, and manage complex data pipelines and workflows.

       Knowledge of data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
