We are looking for a Senior Retention Marketing Manager to join our team at Etsy and lead our mobile-first engagement strategy for CRM. In this role, you will play a critical role in developing and executing mobile first strategies across various channels to drive user engagement, retention, and growth. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, Analytics, Product Marketing, and Design, to create effective strategies for engaging app users. The ideal candidate is a strong strategic and technical CRM leader capable of driving innovation and developing a comprehensive app engagement strategy. We are looking for someone who can implement this strategy and roadmap with agility and precision and is excited to work in a fast-paced environment that values innovation and creativity.
This is a full-time position reporting to the Senior Manager of Retention Marketing. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.
This role requires your presence in Etsy’s Brooklyn Office once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. Develop and implement a comprehensive app retention marketing strategy that includes highly targeted and personalized push notifications, SMS, email, and in-app messaging.
Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Marketing analytics teams to integrate push marketing strategies into the overall product experience.
Lead the planning, execution, and optimization of campaigns to engage app users and drive an increase in engaged visits and daily active app usage.
Utilize data and analytics to identify user segments and personalize messaging to enhance user engagement and retention.
Leveraging platform expertise to execute end-to-end campaigns with Braze or similar ESP
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in push marketing, mobile engagement, and digital marketing.
Contribute to continuously improving CRM processes and efficiency by making recommendations and implementing measures that increases team agility
Communicate and coordinate status updates, launch confirmations, ETAs, blockers, and dependencies on a weekly basis
This role requires occasionally working outside of normal business hours such as weekends, late nights, or early mornings depending on campaign launch times and any urgent messages that need to be delivered

8+ years of experience in a Retention Marketing role, with a focus on mobile-first strategies and complex technical execution in an ESP platform or Marketing Automation Platform
Strong technical expertise in Braze or similar ESP platforms, with hands-on experience building and optimizing campaigns.
Experience working closely with data science teams to design and execute experiments, such as A/B/n or multi-armed bandit tests
Strong project management, delivering successful long term campaign execution and ability to work at a fast pace while handling competing priorities.
Technical skill with a proven track record to quickly learn new skills and assimilate new technologies
Accountability to deliver high quality work and are proactive to share new insights with peers and leadership
Strong critical thinking skills coupled with a bias towards action so as to anticipate and navigate the constantly evolving marketing landscape
Natural collaborator who is able to build positive relationships across the company and drive decision-making for cross-functional teams
Understand CAN-SPAM/CASL/GDPR requirements and inbox deliverability standards
Understand the basics of data segmentation and attribution, including knowledge of SQL
Experience using HTML to build and personalize marketing communications
