Position Highlights:

Interprets physician orders in relation to the patient’s oncologic diagnosis, prescribed treatment, age group and makes appropriate interventions as needed to assure safe and effective drug therapy. Enters or verifies medication orders into the computer, admixes or dispenses medication (including chemo) for patients as prescribed by the physician, and practices and promotes the concept of patient-focused care.

Participates in Drug Utilization Evaluations (DUEs), drug review, education, patient monitoring, Quality Assurance (QA) programs and drug information activities of the oncology pharmacy. 

What you will need:

  • Currently licensed by the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation (of Education and Registration)
  • Graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited Doctor of Pharmacy degree program
  • PGY1 and PGY2 (in the area of specialization) Residency or the equivalent experience
  • Board Certification in Oncology preferred
