Basic Function:
Set the standard and continuously develop an assigned grouping branches, people, and projects in delivering supply chain strategy, day-to-day execution of order-to-cash, cost reductions, and managed customer expectations. Champion processes and programs that drive profit and revenue growth through operational value. Lead and monitor core performance - warehouse productivity, cost, inventory and administrative accuracy, and service. Ensure operational goals strategically link to business aims and financial results. Lead, coach, and support subordinates. Analyze business practices for continuous improvement, global compliance and distribution fundamentals upon which the globally expanding business can rely. Drive end-to-end solutions stemming from supplier practices through warehousing, transportation, electronic commerce and systemic decision making in support of optimal product, information, and cash flow. Manage and/or support acquisitions as required.
Accountabilities and Decision-Making Authority:
Drive distribution practices, reporting and analytics that provide assurance that the system is delivering as it intends. Create solutions to repetitive exceptions that drive cost and hinder service. Continuously strive for best practice, uniformity amongst regions, reliability of service, consistent customer delivery. Oversee day-to-day operational and process management involving the compliant, expedient flow of materials and products in this fast-paced, growing business. Ensuring timely & auditable processing, automated & simplified business processes, and compliant handling of order fulfillment and distribution are required for this role.
Representative Activities:
Provide guidance and serve as a resource in the development and/or redesign of U.S. and international physical distribution facilities and practices in a fast-expanding environment.
Implement optimal supply chain solutions and strategies in support of warehouse operations, inventory management, business development, and customer service
Drive team results that simplify practices, increase productivity and reduce costs
Oversee order fulfillment processes associated with day-to-day operations
Ensure accurate and timely operational reporting, cost leadership, and balanced scorecard results
Liaise cross functionally to deliver sustainable processes for effective /efficient WMS/TMS and product distribution
Typical Decisions Made:
Initiate operational solutions that speed cycle time and quality delivery to customers
Manage risk management and assurance processes
Recommend distribution processes governing internal efficiencies and customer service successes
Interface cross-functionally to create supply chain solutions, identify and resolve problems, manage inventory and fulfillment objectives, and provide timely response to business needs
Define business rules and policies pertaining to physical distribution methods that ultimately yield bottom line cost reductions and meet P&L objectives.
Establish effective SOP’s driving S&OP and all supply chain activities – inventory, warehousing, and transportation
Challenge operational and management actions, ensuring performance optimization for a scaling business
Required Skills
4+ years of domestic and international distribution, warehousing, and/or inventory management
4-year degree, advanced degree, APICS certification, or supply chain accreditation preferred
Strategic thinker, able to envision as well as implement
Personal mastery of cross functional communication, team building, and leadership
Ability to influence outcomes, problem solve, and communicate well verbally and in writing
Solid project management and Microsoft Office skills
Able to work well under pressure, performing and managing multiple tasks simultaneously
Meet deadlines in high volume environment
Ability to travel in support of regional oversight, peer support of other regions, acquisitions, and special projects
