Job Summary:

The Industrial Power Systems Division has an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineering Technician I position in Seguin, TX. As a Manufacturing Engineering Technician I, you will perform the duties associated and assigned by the Manufacturing Engineering team.

What you will do:

  • Provide technical support through data analysis, problem solving, and (CPS) Caterpillar production systems. 

  • Coach and provide feedback to team leaders including action plan follow up, use of six-sigma and lean manufacturing methodology and use of C.P.S.

  • Identify and track key metrics related to assigned department or function

  • Identify process improvement opportunities, continuous review of plant operations to keep team focused on key priorities and improvement objectives

  • Provide follow up / tracking for process improvement accomplishments to ensure improvements are sustained

  • Perform audits to ensure materials, processes, and tools conform to quality standards 

  • Follow standard operating procedures and area specific work instructions 

  • Lead and facilitate small business team activities within assigned work area 

  • Lead, Investigate and resolve Manufacturing Engineering process defects and other quality improvement initiatives.

  • Participate and support Engineering for Standard Work and Failure mode analysis such as sFMEA and pFMEA activities.

  • Represent Manufacturing Engineering at small business team meetings

  • Edit work instructions for assembly as directed by the Manufacturing Engineers.

What you will have:

  • Experience reading blueprints and reviewing 3D models.

  • Familiarity in assembly processes, test processes and validation of manufacturing processes.

  • Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

  • Intermediate knowledge of Standard Assembly tools.

  • Ability to understand best assembly practices.

  • Ability to understand data analysis systems

What would make you a top candidate:

  • Experience with quality in a diesel assembly/machine facility

  • Experience of problem-solving skills with proven results

  • Experience collaborating on addressing documentation issues

Additional Information:

  • $21/hour starting payrate

  • Overtime as required
