Job Description:

The Financial Analyst, Senior Housing Capital Expenditures (CapEx) will have the opportunity to join an S&P 500 company (NYSE: VTR) and work on a high-profile portfolio of healthcare real estate assets with a focus on senior housing capital investment projects. The Financial Analyst will report to the SVP Asset Management and oversee financial analysis, project underwriting, tracking/reporting, and an overall forecast model for capital investment projects across ~800 senior housing communities in North America and the UK.  He/she will be a key contributor to an integral team within Ventas and will have a significant responsibility for, and impact on, the portfolio's financial performance. While we do not require any prior real estate or healthcare experience, we do require candidates who are analytical, detail-oriented, curious, fast learners and desire to be an integral part of a company whose track record speaks for itself.
 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Under the direction of the SVP Asset Management (Senior Housing), provide analytical support for a portfolio of senior housing assets located across North America and the UK
  • Using data analytics, including property, market, and industry financial metrics, along with market demographics and other ad hoc data as available, make recommendations for capital investment feasibility and prioritization on project-by-project basis
  • Compile supporting materials, including the creation of presentations for project approval by company executives
  • ·Track/forecast cash spend by project, variances to project budget, variances to underwriting on operational performance, returns on investment, etc.
  • Manage capital spending model for the Company’s ~800 community senior housing portfolio
  • Other ad hoc reports and projects, as necessary

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, Mathematics or similar field
  • 1+ years of post-undergraduate experience
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel and proficiency in MS Power Point required
  • Experience using Power Query/Power BI, Python and other business intelligence and/or coding skills would be beneficial, but not required
  • Working knowledge of finance and accounting concepts
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
