Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Staff Program Cost and Schedule Control Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located at Roy, UT or Huntsville, AL to support the Sentinel Aerospace Vehicle Equipment (AVE) Segment in our Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) Division.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Setting up cost control system, monitoring and controlling costs and schedules on contracts requiring validated cost schedule control system.
  • Performing analyses and preparing reports in order to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines.
  • Preparing budgets and schedules for contract work and performs and/or assisting in financial analyses such as funding profiles, sales outlook, and variance analysis.
  • Preparing program plans to ensure program requirements and statement of work are captured and scheduled.
  • Performing schedule risk assessments to identify and mitigate program cost and scheduling risks.
  • Ensures adequate funding availability by maintaining accurate records of expenditures, directing preparation of expenditure projections, and submitting timely requests for additional funding to the government.
  • Incorporates contractual changes into control systems by staying aware of outstanding work against each contract in order to maintain realistic contract cost and schedule baselines.
  • Monitoring funding availability by maintaining accurate records of expenditures and preparation of expenditure projections.
  • Monthly material and subcontract financial forecasting.
  • Participating in month-end financial reporting close activities.
  • Performing miscellaneous financial analysis including monthly financial reporting/forecasting and monthly EACs
  • Continually assessing and improving financial reporting processes to enhance efficiencies.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 13 years of related experience in  business, finance, accounting, program control, and/or similar industry related fields; 11 years with a Master’s degree; or 17 years of experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree
  • US Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level security clearance
  • Experience with Deltek Cobra
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Experience with proposals and program start up
  • Experience successfully supporting a monthly financial forecasting rhythm
  • Experience with all facets of Cost Management including Controller, Labor Cost Management, Material Cost Management, Earned Value Management with external government reporting, Schedule Management and financial forecasting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active DoD Secret level security clearance or higher
  • 5+ years of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience.
  • Proficient in Deltek Cobra, SAP, PowerBI
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent problem solving and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to present to SDS leadership

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80A. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Salary Range: $117,800.00 - $176,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
