Position Overview

Apollo Global Management is seeking a Portfolio Manager Associate to join the Global Corporate Credit team that manages ~45 billion in AUM invested globally in high yield bonds and leveraged loans. This individual will provide direct support to the portfolio managers in generating and maintaining a consolidated and streamlined reporting infrastructure. In this role, the candidate will spearhead and coordinate client/investor communication and reporting requests as well as perform fund analytics, in addition to providing all facets of portfolio management support in collaboration with sector analysts and traders.  Additionally, the candidate will help the portfolio managers screen for investment opportunities and engage in ongoing fund allocation and rebalancing.  The candidate will attend investment committee meetings, track investment decisions, and act as a liaison between the Global Corporate Credit team and other groups across Apollo. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Generate customized client / investor reporting for both internal and external distribution. Assist senior team members in responding to specific client requests.

  • Participate in investment committee meetings, quarterly portfolio reviews, regularly scheduled and ad hoc credit discussions.  Track investment decisions made by the portfolio managers.

  • Assist portfolio managers by creating screens for investment opportunities to help facilitate trades.

  • Collaborate with sector analysts on underwriting and amendment processes and work with traders to facilitate feedback to bank counterparts.

  • Perform portfolio analytics and assist portfolio managers with ongoing allocation and portfolio rebalancing.

  • Track existing and prospective investment activity across Global Corporate Credit and support the portfolio management function as needed.

  • Act as liaison for Global Corporate Credit team to coordinate credit-platform and firm-wide initiatives.

  • Assist the team with additional ad hoc projects and requests as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 4-5 years of investment banking, capital markets, research, sales and trading, or buy-side experience (areas include Leveraged Finance, Financial Sponsors, Restructuring or M&A are a plus)
  • Bachelor’s degree with strong academic record.
  • Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rigorous work environment; demonstrated ability to prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines
  • Initiative and ownership of responsibilities – must show a proactive, positive attitude
  • Strong interest in Corporate Credit with relevant credit experience preferred
  • High proficiencies in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Bloomberg.
