As the BlizzCon Talent Lead (temporary), you will champion Blizzard’s connection with celebrity and influencer talent to amplify the magic, excitement, and storytelling of BlizzCon. In this role, you will refine and execute a comprehensive strategy for celebrity engagement—partnering closely with internal teams across Communications/PR, Marketing, and Events, as well as external agencies—to bring iconic personalities into the world of Blizzard in ways that are authentic to their, and Blizzard’s, brands.

You’ll serve as the central point of coordination and visibility for all talent-related outreach and activation, ensuring that every appearance and engagement adds to the wonder that makes BlizzCon legendary. This is a temporary, contract position running from January 15 through September 30, 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end talent engagement strategy: Define and execute global plans for celebrity and influencer participation aligned with Blizzard’s brand and event objectives.
  • Lead senior-level cross-functional alignment: Drive collaboration across Communications, Marketing, Events, and Franchise teams to integrate talent activations into broader campaign strategies.
  • Serve as Blizzard’s primary liaison: Represent Blizzard in all interactions with top-tier talent partners and agencies, ensuring alignment on creative vision and deliverables.
  • Oversee high-stakes negotiations: Secure agreements with talent and agencies, balancing creative goals with financial and legal safeguards.
  • Manage budgets: Allocate resources effectively and report ROI to senior leadership, ensuring fiscal responsibility and impact.
  • Design authentic experiences: Develop concepts that connect talent with the Blizzard community in meaningful, brand-safe ways across live and digital platforms.
  • Ensure operational excellence: Direct logistics for talent participation, including travel, hospitality, and on-site execution during BlizzCon.
  • Mitigate risk and ensure compliance: Implement processes for legal, financial, and reputational safeguards across all talent engagements.
  • Deliver post-event insights: Lead debriefs and compile learnings to optimize future talent strategies and tentpole events.

Player Profile / Minimum Requirements

  • Proven leadership of cross-functional teams of 8+ professionals.
  • Managed budgets of $5M+ for talent or event activations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Ability to travel 10–15% domestically.

Preferred / Nice-to-have

  • Experience in gaming or pop culture events.
  • Established network within entertainment and influencer ecosystems.
