Job Description
Summary
As a key member of the HR team, the People & Culture, Manager assists in the development and execution of HR strategies, initiatives and programs including organizational change, employee relations, recruiting, performance management, compensation analysis/administration, employee development initiatives, and rewards and recognition, to support business strategy and achievement of site objectives. Works closely with site leaders and corporate functional teams to foster positive employee relations and an environment which is responsive to the needs and expectations of employees.
Position Responsibilities
Partners with the business in developing an understanding of the people and organizational strategy needs and assist in designing and executing solutions in the areas of talent acquisition, change management, organizational design, business process improvement, performance management, and effective communication
Proactively initiates dialog with management, provide advice on issues affecting morale, performance, development and organization effectiveness, helping to determine root causes and recommending appropriate next steps
Executes annual processes such as Talent Management, Succession Development, Compensation Review Process, and integration of new hires
Facilitates the effective resolution of day-to-day HR matters including investigating complaints and proposing recommendations to ensure fair and consistent treatment based on past practice, policies and regulatory requirements
Coaches business leaders on leadership behaviors and practices, employee communications, development and performance management strategies and tactics to promote engagement and a culture of continuous growth and development
Ability to learn and run data reports utilizing systems such as Oracle and analyze data as required
Creates internal communications and manage projects through completion as needed
Develops and implements strategies to attract and retain top talent and build employer brand
Provides counsel to leaders on matters of employee and organizational policies and procedures
Collaborates with operational leaders in the development of a more empowered and accountable culture with shared priorities
Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors while selecting techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results

Special Requirements
U.S. Citizenship required
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)
BA/BS degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development or Business is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
7 years of direct Human Resources Management experience
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong sense of business ethics including the ability to appropriately handle confidential information
Knowledge and understanding of a variety of areas within Human Resources including recruitment, performance management, compensation and benefits
Possess current understanding of federal, state and local employment laws
Problem solver with a positive attitude and ability to make appropriate decisions
Ability to work extensive hours during peak times
Occasional travel to other offices locally
Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies
HR Certification is preferred
Aerospace, Engineering or Technology industry experience preferred
Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways using independent judgment
Able to effectively manage multiple projects and attend to daily HR matters while maintaining focus and follow through on issues until resolved and delivering results as committed
Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal effectiveness at all levels in the organization and across cultures.

Desire to learn and ability to manage in a fast-paced organization

Physical Demands

The salary range for this role is:
$108,275 - $153,615AeroVironment considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the location, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
ITAR Requirement:
This position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”).
