Do you have a strong background in marine operations and are looking to grow your career in a fun and energetic work environment? If so, we have an opportunity for an Operations Superintendent to join our team in Fremantle, WA, on a permanent full-time basis.

What You Can Look Forward To

In this position, you will work closely with an oil and gas client and a local marine service provider, supporting third-party crews and our vessels in the North West. You will provide essential operational expertise, timely guidance, and innovative solutions, with regular travel to our remote operations, allowing you to work on key projects while taking in the region's stunning landscapes.

What You Will Do

Reporting to the Port Manager based in Fremantle, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the primary contact between the operations team and crew

  • Liaising with the relevant port authorities and relevant regional statutory bodies

  • Carrying out incident and near miss investigations in collaboration with Marine Standards

  • Assisting the Technical Manager in vessel maintenance and repairs including docking specifications, reports and coordination of supplies

  • Participate in regular internal and external audits of vessels (SOVIQ, OVID, MLC, SMC, DOC)

  • Preparing necessary documentation to ensure contractual compliance with clients

  • Contributing to the preparation of budgets, forecasts and ongoing cost optimisation

What You Will Need To Succeed

To thrive in this position, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in a similar role within the maritime, oil and gas, or resources industries.

  • Tertiary qualifications in management, business-related disciplines, or relevant maritime certifications are highly regarded.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • A proven capacity to influence change and negotiate successful outcomes.

  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce high level, detailed reports and other documentation.

  • Proven ability to support and develop a positive organisational culture by aligning with company values and fostering teamwork.

  • Strong desire and proven ability to achieve objectives and deliver results with a long-term, strategic outlook.
