Position Overview: The Director of Product Management will play a pivotal role in shaping Yahoo Commerce's future by leading a team of Product Managers. This team is focused on Yahoo's performance marketing business and the technology platforms that support it.  This individual will be responsible for coaching, developing, and guiding the team towards excellence in product management practices. They will be focused on overhauling our data reporting capabilities and improving the accessibility and usability of our data.  We are looking for a motivated, driven leader with a deep curiosity and hunger to improve things.  Experience in digital publishing, direct marketing, e-commerce, and affiliate marketing is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and mentor a team of Product Managers, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and innovation.

  • Drive the product strategy and vision, ensuring alignment with the broader organizational goals.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, and sales, to bring products to market.

  • Lead the planning, design, and execution of product initiatives, ensuring they meet user needs and business objectives.

  • Be an outstanding communicator, capable of articulating a compelling product vision and motivating the team towards its execution.

  • Own the product roadmap, schedule, and metrics, ensuring transparency and accountability across the team.

  • Drive innovation by encouraging the team to envision and create solutions that meet the needs of our users and customers.

  • Establish and maintain robust processes for product management practices, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and organizational objectives.

  • Serve as a key strategic advisor to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations on product and market strategy.

  • Leverage data and analytics to inform product strategy and decision-making, utilizing platforms like Looker or Looker Studio to derive actionable insights.

  • Collaborate with the platform Data Engineering and Revenue data teams to optimize data transfer, governance, and utilization across Yahoo’s data ecosystem.

  • Drive the adoption and effective use of Looker within the product management team, ensuring that data-driven decision-making is at the core of product development processes.

  • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and potential product innovation and improvement opportunities.

  • Perform in-depth competitive analysis to understand market dynamics, competitor strategies, and positioning.

  • Develop and refine business strategies based on insights gained from market research and competitive analysis, ensuring alignment with Yahoo’s overall objectives and market positioning.

  • Utilize advanced analytics frameworks for competitive analysis, focusing on external trends and our competitors' actions/strategies to provide actionable ideas for product differentiation and leadership.

  • Collaborate in real-time with team members in Taiwan

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in product management within the performance marketing industry.

  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing and developing high-performing teams focused on execution and results.

  • Strong proficiency in Looker or similar data analytics platforms, with a track record of leveraging data to drive product decisions.

  • Extensive experience in conducting market research, competitive analysis, and developing business strategies.

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges.

  • A proven track record of leading product management teams and delivering successful products.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a world-class team.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across functions.

  • Deep understanding of product management practices and the ability to implement them effectively.

  • Experience in e-commerce, affiliate marketing, or related fields is highly desirable.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • A customer-focused approach with a deep understanding of user needs and market dynamics.

The compensation for this position ranges from $150,380.00 - $327,025.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
