Meet our team    
This Individual Contributor position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cross-functional teams and global leaders, focusing on analytics, product roadmaps, and market insights to achieve impactful results. The Head of Strategy, Analytics and Consumer Products will use data to drive commercial outcomes across PayPal’s (non FS) consumer products. This vital role has direct influence over PayPal’s commercial KPI’s and market share by ensuring that our products and our business is being managed, optimized and built to maximize our commercial success and competitiveness in-market.

  • This position is part of a tight knit team of payments experts who are responsible for making sure we deliver payment excellence for our large enterprise, SMB, FS and Consumer customers.

  • Global matrix – interfacing with PayPal global teams and partners.

  • Evangelize - Serve as a thought leader for our business and our driving great customer outcomes.  

  • A connector - Partner with other Product teams, Finance, Support, Global Sales, Professional Services, and Account Management, as well as leveraging external partnerships that are built over time, to deliver for our business.

Your day-to-day

In your day-to-day role, you will analyse PayPal’s rich data to help drive our business incorporating:

- Product and Payments Strategy Development:

  • Collaborate with country leaders and teams to define and implement a product roadmap tailored to the Australian market.

  • Ensure alignment with broader global strategies, providing input into product direction for financial services, small to medium enterprises (SME), consumers, and large enterprises.

- Product Analytics and Business Case Development:

  • Conduct in-depth analytical investigations into product penetration and performance across various segments (SME, consumer, and enterprise).

  • Engage with global analytics teams to leverage best practices and insights on specific initiatives.

  • Prepare data-driven business cases to support product development and go-to-market strategies.

- Market and Competitor Insights:

  • Monitor market trends, competitor products, and payment industry innovations to inform strategic decisions.

  • Translate insights into actionable recommendations for the product and sales teams.

- Stakeholder Presentations:

  • Use data to analyse the business, build strategies and craft and present recommendations to key internal stakeholders, along with the preparation of reports/data for PayPal Australia’s Board and PayPal Credit boards. Develop data/insights and messaging for PayPal’s external speaking events.

- Consumer Product Management:

  • Lead the management and innovation of non-financial services consumer products, including P2P payments, remittances (including crypto offerings), and other related payment solutions. As the commercial lead for this, use a highly analytical approach to better understand how our consumers are interacting with PayPal and what they need from us.

- Strategic Planning and Alignment:

  • Work closely with global markets, product, and sales teams to ensure product strategies and execution plans align with broader sales objectives and market dynamics.

  • Facilitate global prioritisation and alignment meetings and ensure cohesion between global strategy and local execution.

What do you need to bring

  • At least 10 years of experience in the payments, technology or consulting industry

  • Exceptional ability to process and interpret data to drive strategic decisions.

  • Solid and sound hands on SQL skills and approach to data

  • Proven experience developing forward-thinking product strategies within fast-paced environments.

  • Extensive knowledge of product management, innovation, and development, ideally within the fintech or payments space.

  • Hands-on experience in the payments sector is strongly preferred, particularly with SME and consumer segments.

  • Understanding of the competitive landscape and market dynamics in payments, financial technology, and related industries.
