Your role

The best lawyers need the best business partners. At Allens, our business teams are specialists in their field, using their unique knowledge and expertise to solve critical client and business challenges. You'll be a part of our Pricing & Practice Economics Team (PPE) and work closely with our Head of Pricing and Partners on activities which support the firm's commercial and strategic objectives.

You'll work closely with Partners, Business Development and Marketing, Commercial Managers, Legal Project Managers, Integrated Legal Solutions and our Innovation Team to develop and deliver elements of the firm's strategic plan.

You'll also liaise with clients' procurement and legal operations teams in the bids process and as part of the ongoing relationship management of the commercial agreements.

As a Senior Pricing Manager in our PPE team you will:

  • Contribute to the ongoing development of pricing infrastructure for the firm. 

  • Support bid teams with pricing and negotiation strategy for panels and tenders.

  • Review commercial terms and manage client pricing arrangements, liaising with clients' procurement and legal operations teams where required.

  • Assist partners and lawyers to respond to requests for estimates or proposals. This includes designing and implementing alternative fee arrangements.

  • Use pricing tools and financial models to assess profitability and support and influence partners with pricing decisions.

  • Support the Innovation & Digital Solutions team in pricing of legal technology services and products. Implement strategic initiatives that drive improvements in efficiency, creating positive outcomes for clients and the firm.

  • Assist with the management, training and development of Pricing Managers and Pricing Analyst.

About you

You will have:

  • A background in law firm pricing, or pricing in another professional services environment.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build relationships with people at all levels of an organisation and influence outcomes.

  • Experience in bid and tender processes, and dealing with procurement and/or legal operations.

  • Experience managing others or a team, and a genuine desire to learn, grow, network, mentor others.

  • Proficient Excel skills with the ability to analyse raw data and draw out insights.

  • The ability to think critically, solve problems and be comfortable with complexity, ambiguity or uncertainty.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate.

  • Strong presentation skills and proficient in PowerPoint.

  • Excellent time management skills with the ability co-ordinate multiple stakeholders in a fast paced environment.

Qualifications:

  • An undergraduate degree qualification in Business/Commerce/Law or related professional degree.

  • A certification in change management or project management would be valued.
