Summary:

The Senior Director of Employee Experience is responsible for developing and executing strategies that improve the overall employee experience. This role focuses on employee engagement and recognition, as well as overseeing Memorial Healthcare System's (MHS) volunteer and spiritual care programs. The Senior Director plays a key role in cultivating a positive and holistic workplace culture that promotes employee well-being and aligns with the healthcare system’s mission and values.

Responsibilities:

Regularly assesses the effectiveness of recognition, engagement, and community-building programs, using metrics to report on their contribution to employee satisfaction, engagement, and retention.Works closely with senior leadership and HR teams to align employee experience strategies with key business priorities, including talent acquisition, retention, and development.Creates and implements initiatives that foster a sense of community, such as engagement teams, employee groups, volunteer activities, and alumni networks. Aligns these groups with organizational priorities and facilitates cross-functional collaboration.Serves as a champion for engagement and recognition across the organization, encouraging leaders to participate and promote these initiatives. Works with HR communications to maintain consistent messaging.Develops and enhances listening strategies to gather employee feedback through surveys, lifecycle assessments, and listening tours. Uses insights to inform strategies, ensuring feedback is acted upon and communicated transparently.Ensures a robust volunteer program through the Director of Volunteer Services, enhancing the volunteer experience and exploring pathways to employment for volunteers.Continuously refines and evolves employee experience programs and strategies to ensure they remain relevant, impactful, and aligned with the organization’s changing needs and priorities.Oversees the development and implementation of spiritual care services through the Director of Spiritual Care, ensuring these services are accessible, inclusive, and aligned with the organization’s mission.Creates and oversees diverse employee recognition programs that celebrate achievements and milestones, ensuring they remain relevant and impactful. Continuously innovates and makes data-driven adjustments to align with employee preferences and organizational goals.Drives engagement-building projects, partnering with facility Human Resources (HR) teams to enhance system-wide strategies. Integrates “human experience” principles into employee initiatives.

Complexity of Work: This role requires critical thinking skills, effective communication, decisive judgment, and the ability to build and foster positive relationships. The incumbent must be able to lead others and take appropriate action when required. Required Work Experience: Ten (10) years of experience in employee engagement, recognition programs, or similar roles. Proven track record of successfully creating and implementing strategies that enhance the employee experience and strengthen organizational culture. Strong skills in data analysis, program development, and evaluation, with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to inspire, motivate, and effectively lead teams. Other Information: Additional Education Information: Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
