Who We Are:

Wayfair is looking for a highly analytical, strategically-minded finance leader to partner with our Storefront and Fintech and Loyalty Operational team. The right candidate has a passion for breaking down complex business problems into discrete analyses and using data to drive informed business decisions. As a key thought partner to Tech/Engineering leadership, you will provide financial forecast and guidance for making optimal strategic and operational decisions.

What you’ll do:

  • Become the key partner to our Tech leadership on all topics related to efficiently managing spend within the framework of allowable budgets 
  • Provide frequent (weekly, monthly, quarterly) insightful reporting on in house and outsourced labor cost, as well as cloud and software spend. 
  • Build financial ROI models to enable informed buy vs make decisions as it pertains to investments in third party software and labor 
  • Process, oversee and reconcile Purchase Orders in our Coupa system against actual and expected spend. Engage with third party vendors as needed to resolve inconsistencies , 
  • Provide recurring analysis and benchmarks of the workforce composition including spend by geo location, workforce levels, workforce distribution between inhouse and outsourced labor, derive findings and recommendations and present these to leadership 
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses and build advanced reporting to generate actionable insights.
  • Build, operationalize, and iterate on key performance metrics and dashboards to communicate insights from analyses to stakeholders and leaders.
  • Build strong partnerships and collaboration with leaders and stakeholders to enable consistency in programs with peers.
  • Contribute to the development of tools and processes that drive efficiencies for the team and simplify the day-to-day operations.

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor's degree, plus 6+ years of experience in quantitative field such as finance, operations, or strategy in a fast-paced environment or top-tier management consulting firm
  • Ability to thrive in a high growth and entrepreneurial environment where strong project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities are a must
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for modeling capabilities (pivot tables, VLOOKUPS, using advanced formulas), and data visualization tools such as Google Data Studio (Looker, Tableau, or PowerBI)
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills 
  • Strong presentation skills to all levels of management.
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results
  • Experience working within large datasets and passionate about solving complex business problems even when clean and or complete information is not available
  • Experience in taking a company forward in a fast-growth environment, providing insight for direction, and managing change effectively.
