About the Role

Explore this pivotal Group financial reporting opportunity working within AIA GO's elite Finance department!

Roles and Responsibilities

  • To achieve assigned functions accurately and efficiently.
  • Give mentorship and technical advice to other Group functions and LBUs
  • Ensure there are accurate processes and controls to deliver all financial and regulatory reports and results with good quality in a timely manner and conformed to accounting policies
  • The financial and regulatory reports include Group IFRS statements, adjusted net worth (part of embedded value), Local Capital Summation Method (LCSM) under Group-wide Supervision (GWS) framework, Individual Insurer Monitoring (IIM) assessment, Insurance Capital Standard (ICS) data collection and Bermuda solvency report, etc
  • Ensure continuous improvements around process efficiency, automation, reporting internal control, Group standard setting, as well as quality and insightful analyses and deliverables.
  • Lead projects and change initiatives relating to financial and regulatory reporting.
  • Support client management through delivering value propositions to relevant internal and external clients
  • Lead the regular closing and reporting process
  • Provide analytical review and the consolidated financial results and the financial results of business unit and ensure alignment with AIA Group Accounting Policies and the standards and regulations set by HKIA and HK Stock Exchange
  • Assist in regular calls or meetings with LBUs and a high-level control on financial results
  • Support continuous process and system enhancements to drive better and faster closing process and production of deliverables together with our LBUs and other Group Office functions
  • Improve Internal Controls Over Financial Reporting program, Balance Sheet Reconciliations and quarterly Certifications from LBUs, RCE offices and Group Management
  • Participate in the roll out of various SAP systems including FICO, FAM, Treasury, etc.
  • Lead and support wider finance and corporate projects

Minimum Job Requirements

  • University education or equivalent experience in finance /accounting or other business fields
  • Qualified Accountant with regional exposure in a multinational environment
  • Proven experience (5 years plus) finance reporting and / or budget and planning functions
  • Wide exposure in life insurance industry
  • Strong communicator (verbal and written) with strong leadership to lead a sizable team
  • Good client management experience
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English
  • Proficiency in SAP, IFRS and HKRBC/HKICO a plus
