SCOPE OF POSITION:

The Senior Supervisor, Compliance provides leadership and direction to direct reports and the entire facility with respect to all areas of Compliance. Compliance Managers establish and enforce policies to ensure the Company complies with any industry regulations and laws that apply to the business.

What you will do:

OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT:

  • Ensure the efficient management of operations in relations to compliance
  • Implement standardized processes and tools
  • Ensure that shift targets are met or exceeded
  • Evaluate and monitor the performance of the shift and proactively deal with issues as they arise
  • Monitor ergonomic programs
  • Manage work refusals
  • Work with Ministry of Labour during visits and following critical injuries or complaints
  • Emergency preparedness planning

LEADERSHIP/PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:

  • Promote one LCL culture and the embedding of compliance, cost, colleague and customer service focus
  • Provide leadership, mentoring and ongoing coaching to the supervision group on operational performance and development opportunities
  • Provide education, training and development to direct reports as it relates to their performance/career path
  • Establish and maintain high personal involvement, accessibility and visibility to the supervision group
  • Lead weekly/period compliance meetings
  • Monitor the process of performance management
  • Ensure company policies, collective agreement and procedures are adhered to
  • Create a positive work environment that engages colleagues
  • Accountable for WSIB/GRTW programs
  • Organize and participate in compliance programs

CUSTOMER SERVICE

  • Provide DC tours for both internal and external customers

FINANCE AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

  • Assist in developing and monitoring budget for area of Loss Prevention and Health and Safety
  • Accountable WSIB Neer statements
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement at the branch level
  • Complete best methods training with external and internal resources
  • Manage Health and Safety recognition programs

COMPLIANCE MANAGEMENT

  • Ensure compliance processes and policies are adhered to
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety, Food Safety, Sanitation and Environmental requirements are met
  • Ensure compliance with all legislation (federal, provincial and municipal)

What you will need:

  • University degree with a specialization in Health and Safety or a similar discipline (HR, Business Management)
  • 3-5 years of related work experience
  • 1-3 years of Supervisory/Management experience
  • Excellent communication skills are an asset
  • Must have strong leadership skills
  • Must have the ability to multitask, make decisions and problem solve
  • Strong organization skills would be an asset
