The IT Business Operations Analyst will support the IT Portfolio and Performance Lead to enhance the financial management of IT by providing data-driven insights, ensuring budgetary discipline, and promoting strategic alignment of IT investments.  The IT Business Operations Analyst will help to provide transparency to the IT Leadership Team to help them make informed decisions, and ultimately improve the cost-effectiveness and value of IT services.

What you will be responsible for:

Managing the day to day processing of IT finances

  • Raising Purchase Orders on behalf of the IT Service Owners and Project Managers

  • Working with internal and external stakeholders to investigate and answer invoice queries

  • Goods Receipting Purchase Orders on behalf of the IT Service Owners and Project Managers

  • Serve as a liaison between IT and Finance Departments to ensure the quick processing of invoices and payment escalations

  • In collaboration with our IT Vendor Manager, ensure that financial issues and considerations are integrated into contract negotiations and renewals, and to ensure that vendor payment issues are being escalated and resolved

Processes and Reporting

  • Assist the IT Governance and Performance Lead with key reporting to support Annual Budget Planning, Submissions, and Forecasts (3+9, 6+6, 9+3)

  • Create and maintain dashboards to provide real-time insights into IT performance for stakeholders

  • Implement automated processes to streamline the extraction, transformation, and presentation of financial data

  • Perform regular variance analyses to compare actual expenditures against budgets, identify discrepancies, and report underlying causes

  • Generate ad-hoc reports and analyses to support specific IT initiatives or respond to urgent information requests from senior management

  • Conduct regular reviews and analyses of financial data for all IT budget lines

  • Assist in tracking IT budgets, ensuring expenditures align with allocated funds, and report discrepancies for investigation with IT Service Owners and the IT Portfolio and Performance Lead

  • Identify and escalate potential risks and issues related to IT budget variances to the IT Portfolio and Performance Lead

About you:

  • Previous experience through internships or entry-level positions in finance or accounting administration, providing exposure to financial analysis, reporting, or budgeting processes

  • Practical experience with financial and data analysis software, such as Excel or Google Sheets, and familiarity with accounting software like SAP S/4HANA would be beneficial

  • Fluent English Language skills

  • Basic understanding of business operations and how financial processes align with overall business strategies and objectives

  • Knowledge of IT Operations, including relevant financial regulations and practices, would also be beneficial

  • Analytical skills with the ability to analyse financial data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations

  • Excellent attention to detail, proven ability to ensure accuracy in handling data, reporting and analysis

  • Understanding of basic financial principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial statement analysis

  • Ability to collaborate as a team player with multiple stakeholders, with the ability to clearly convey information and analyses to stakeholders

  • Demonstrates a proactive approach to identify financial or data issues, analyse potential causes, and propose solutions

  • Strong time management and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, especially during busy financial reporting periods

Salary ranges from 2300 to 2800 euro gross depending on your experience.
