Drive the strategic development of the Events team to meet current and future needs of the EEMEA business. This encompasses the entire operational processes related to Events, ensuring a “Best in Class” service is created and maintained through developing & implementing solutions to maintain and improve Franchise/HCP satisfaction, maximise cost efficiency and demonstrate effectiveness. Lead and inspire the events team members across the EEMEA region to deliver, focusing on continuous improvement, ensuring alignment and sharing best practice. Collaborate with global SME’s in events, compliance and finance to deliver events ‘Excellence’ with in the region and be seen as an example internationally.

Key Activities & Responsibilities

  • Drive strategic development of events team to be a trusted partner of the business
  • Develop and deliver KPI’s for the events team in line with strategic vision
  • Collaborate with global events teams to ensure best practice and alignment
  • Manage Events team members - in geographical locations across EEMEA – On-boarding of new team members, running team meetings to drive alignment & engagement, recruitment when required
  • Regular reviews of events team structure to ensure efficiency & effectiveness.
  • Drive collaboration with marketing and commercial teams through regular communication, VOCs & meetings
  • Build close collaboration with marketing franchise leads/site leads
  • Partner with the Education programme manager & Marketing to develop annual MedEd/events plan
  • Ensure execution of annual MedEd/events plan, monitor changes and adjustments
  • Promote adult learning philosophies for MedEd events to deliver best in class events
  • Budget monitoring with events team and finance, deliver regular updates for reporting to leadership
  • Drive event follow up to demonstrate change of behaviour utilising online tools
  • Regular review of systems and tools to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
  • Regional link with global facilities managers
  • Delegate and distribute the workload to ensure capacity used effectively. Responsible for the team members’ performance managements, team development and succession plans
  • Supervise team members to work with Event Invoicing to ensure timely payments
  • Supervise team members to work with Prof Affairs to book Faculty for Events
  • Supervise team members to work with Event Logistics to ensure timely booking of flights/hotels etc
  • Develop, maintain and improve Franchise/HCP satisfaction through regular communication and VOC’s
  • Deal with bigger Meetings – NSM, MYMM etc.
  • Regular review of processes to ensure updates to any regulations, compliance policies are updated, including review and improvements to any digital platforms being used.
  • BCD Link for EEMEA
  • Ensure Ethics points are logged for any events process issues and investigated to resolution
  • Supports team members and peers with complex event needs
  • Liaises with franchise product managers on a regular basis to discuss events already working on and upcoming events to start managing in the team
  • Budget tracking for events managing and overall team adherence to budget tracking
  • Partner with Professional Affairs to ensure HCP interactions are compliant. (as dictated in country)
  • Ensures all HCP information is stored effectively with GDPR and Compliance policies in mind
  • Adhere to the Franchise and Compliance Events strategy. To be involved with a detailed review of all processes, procedures, methods and tools to determine adequacy to meet the current requirements for the events planning service
  • Build and maintain relationships with other Functions while driving leverage opportunities across the areas
  • Ensures all Compliance and Quality policies are implemented and applied in any undertaking of events planning
  • Deal directly with sales force / product managers in relation to Event Reviews on a regular basis. The Events Manager will liaise with all the major functions of the business such as Business units, Compliance, Finance and more to achieve key activities on a local, EEMEA and / or cross-divisional level
  • Work with all virtual event platforms required by the business and ensure the events planning team are fully trained and able to support the requirements of the business for virtual and face to face activity as the environment changes and evolves


Key requirements:

  • 8+ years’ of experience including People Management role
  • Bachelor’s Degree desired but not essential
  • Previous event management experience or project planning
  • Experience of adult learning philosophies
  • Ability to work out of standard working hours to meet the event requirements
  • Confidence with virtual event platforms and their features
     

Desirable:

  • Work experience in a Medical Device/Pharmaceutical company
  • Experience of the EEMEA region
  • Knowledge of MedTech Compliance
  • CAPS contract management system
  • Experience of dealing with many stakeholders to complete all required work including any complex requirements
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility to be able to support business needs for events
  • Excellent communication skills
