The Role:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager, Brand and Marketing to lead the strategic development and implementation of RAC’s brand strategy and centralised marketing service model across RAC. This critical role is instrumental in strengthening the RAC brand, improving marketing effectiveness for a diverse portfolio including Insurance, Motoring, Finance, Home, Travel and Tourism services as well as Social and Community impact activities.

As the General Manager, you will be responsible for guiding the development and execution of the long-term RAC brand and membership marketing strategy, overseeing integrated marketing campaigns and performance of brand and marketing activities including digital media and content. You will report directly to the RAC Chief Member Officer and work closely with the executive leadership team to drive impactful results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Strategy: Lead the formulation and implementation of the brand and marketing strategy across RAC, ensuring alignment with business objectives and member value.
  • Brand Governance: Develop and manage brand governance frameworks, ensuring the protection and consistent delivery of the brand's identity and promise.
  • Relationship Management: Act as a key advisor to the Chief Member Officer and RAC Executive, cultivating strong relationships with internal stakeholders, business unit leaders, and external partners.
  • Planning & Execution: Oversee the annual marketing planning process, deliver integrated campaigns, and manage the RAC brand’s competitive positioning through insights and strategic initiatives.
  • Financial Management: Manage the financial performance of brand and marketing activities, optimise media spend, and ensure the financial sustainability of key initiatives.
  • Innovation & Collaboration: Enhance the effectiveness of marketing operations, foster cross-functional collaboration and development of new capabilities.

About you:

  • Extensive experience in a brand or marketing leadership role within a large, multi-product, customer-focused organisation.
  • Proven experience in brand management, product marketing, and managing significant marketing budgets with ROI accountability.
  • Strong strategic mindset with the ability to develop and execute both short and long-term strategies.
  • Exceptional communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Commerce (Business) and Marketing are mandatory.
  • Post-graduate qualifications and professional education in related fields are desirable.
