Impact

As a Data Scientist on our User Experience Data Science team you will drive insights and experimentation to improve the shopper and customer experiences. This role will primarily work with the Operations organization.

We have rich, complex datasets collected in a multi-sided marketplace. You will perform a wide variety of analytics tasks using those datasets, ranging from crafting complex database queries and ETL pipelines, creating dashboards, conducting ad-hoc research, and developing predictive models. You will work closely with Product and Engineering partners to design and implement experiments based on causal analysis to best business hypothesis and analyze KPI trends across the business to identify root-cases of unexpected variances. The ideal candidate will be data-driven, intellectually curious, and a clear communicator.

What You’ll Need to Be Successful

  • 3+ years of experience with data analysis and turning data into insights and recommendations

  • Strong SQL skills are required (we use Snowflake)

  • Strong background in experimentation methods is required

  • Experience with a Business Intelligence tool is required (e.g., Tableau)

  • Experience with a statistical scripting language is required (e.g., R or Python)

  • Experience in operations is a plus

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field

Work Arrangement

Shipt considers candidates located near a Shipt office or workspace in Birmingham, San Francisco, or Minneapolis to be hybrid, which means that they have the flexibility to work from home (with leader approval) or at a Shipt office in order to facilitate the ability to innovate, collaborate, and spark team connections. Pay range:

Metro Areas of Boston, District of Columbia, Seattle and New York City: 

$82,086-$164,314

Metro Areas of Los Angeles and San Francisco: 

$115,763.35-$164,314

All other locations:

$68,405-$136,929

Please note that the salary range above is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
